My wee boy is dairy, egg and soya allergic, so yoghurt has never been an option for us, til i found Co Yo last week. A coconut one , that seems pretty pure ingredients wise. They also make sure the culture for the yoghurt is not grown on anything dairy.
It is not that easy to get hold of, but it is so tasty! Wish I'd known about whilst I was still on a restricted breastfeeding diet as I missed yoghurt so much!
This website is always great for tips, so thought i'd share, as I'm sure yoghurt has always been a no go for lots of others. They also make an ice cream.
I found the Wot No Dairy ones, but the ingredients list put me off for some reason. I think cos it sounds quite artificial. He also doesn't seem that keen. The Co Yo is just tapioca to thicken it, and coconut milk. Great to go with curry too, yum yum. I asked tesco if they'd consider stocking it and they phoned me today to say will pass it on to their buyers, but probably only would if others asked too. Guess big shops are hard to get into. I've asked a more local whole food shop too. The co yo website gives lists of stockists if anyone is looking. They said in the new year they're planning to make it enriched with calcium which would be great!
I had never thought of contacting a store to ask if they will stock a product. Who do you contact? Happy to request it too. The more stuff like this that's available the easier my life will be! It's so time consuming goi g from stop to shop
My daughters all suffer with dairy and soya allergies. The gastro dietician from a large well known childrens' hospital could only suggest to use Birds Eye custard powder and make custard with dairy and soya free milk for a pudding! Honestly, just reading the ingredients on that tin gives me food allergies. Would she give that to her own child? Glad to read this thread, have just ordered some Co Yo. My girls willbe very pleased to have yoghurt again! Many thanks to you all!
Ds dietitian has told me about these but I was wary as she also recommended the wot no dairy ones and I had to spit mine out it was so disgusting. Will have to order on line I think but will give them a try. Ds is soya egg milk and wheat allergic so puddings are a pain!
