Hi

DD (3) is severely intolerant to dairy, soya, oats & barley.

Would she be able to have hallumi cheese??

TIA

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Halloumi

According to wiki it's made from sheep and goat milk. Although goat milk is easier to digest, I would imagine your DD would still react adversely if she has a severe dairy allergy.

I have no experience of this though, so please don't take this as gospel!

Just out of interest, are you given nutritional advice when your child is diagnosed with an allergy?

she does not have an allergy but a severe intolerance iyswim.

She sees a pead every 4mths or so and a dietician every 3mths.

Feels like I am always at the hospital sometimes!! Grin Grin

She is on neocate for her "milk" drink....

it's worth a try. just a tiny bit though

ds2 and ds3 are intolerant to dairy. ds2 won't touch halloumi but ds3 has had it and had no obvious reaction

you do need to check packets carefully though as a lot is made with cow's milk.

we buy marks and spencers which is made purely of sheep's milk. my 2 cannot tolerate goat milk (which is very similar to cow's milk in terms of the proteins) but seem ok with sheep's milk

Yay Grin

Pleased to hear it.

What's the salt content like, out of interest? Might be something else I can give to DD.

Oh don't know sorry Blush

It was bought over the counter after staff went off to check it had no cows milk in it. So has no packaging on it iyswim.

I have to say M&S were v helpful so it would be worth asking them about the salt content...
