Thank you Topiary!

babybarrister Sun 26-Jun-11 19:40:46

he made it all safe and sound and has raised about £4,500 so far for the Anaphylaxis Campaign - we also managed to feed DS safely over the weekend in Paris - a lot of steak hache and frites .... grin

BB - any tips for the journey? Great friends of mine go in July and would love any advice!

Well done to your DH. DS climbed Mont Blanc last week and has raised nearly £4k for Help 4 Heroes. I think we can be rightly proud of the pair of them. smile

babybarrister, a fantastic effort by your DH for such an important cause. I have donated.

I'm so glad your DS was able to eat safely in Paris. My DS has similar allergies and we have found that many restaurants in France cook their frites in groundnut (ie. peanut) oil - nightmare, DS very disappointed on our trip to Paris last year. In Italy we found that sunflower oil is more commonly used for frying, but it's always worth checking.

babybarrister Wed 29-Jun-11 12:00:23

well done ajandjjmum's H!
thanks very much snowjive - I have to say I did not ask about the oil the chips were fried in [DS in fact not allergic to peanut though he has to avoid as he is on the Leap study in the peanut avoidance arm ....]

Well done BB's dh. I'm full of admiration. I have made a (very small- sorry times a bit tight right now) donation.
Beautiful ds by the way! What a handsome fellow!

Way to go MrBB Well done and a great cause.

babybarrister Sun 03-Jul-11 20:30:29

thank you Whelk - we are very touched by the sheer number of separate donations which is what matters. I think that Mr BB's blurb has also raised awareness as anyone who knows him knows he is not exactly touchy feely!

I think DS is gorg too but then I am his mother grin

youarekidding Sun 03-Jul-11 20:45:50

I've donated. quite amusing typing my name as Mrs youarekidding me grin

Not much I'm afraid - not after wll your DH did - but quite broken atm.

babybarrister Mon 04-Jul-11 21:14:15

youarekidding - not sure that the donation has registered on justgiving site

ilovemydogandMrObama Mon 04-Jul-11 21:19:19

baby peanut oil is OK for a peanut allergy as the allergy to peanuts is to the protein. I'm allergic to peanuts, but haven't had a problem with groundnut oil. <<knocks on wood>>

Whelk Mon 04-Jul-11 21:22:24

I thought the explanation about allergies was very articulately put. I plan to copy!

babybarrister Mon 04-Jul-11 21:29:37

Whelk - I shall pass on your comment to Mr BB!

youarekidding Mon 04-Jul-11 21:42:47

youarekidding Mon 04-Jul-11 21:47:01

youarekidding Mon 04-Jul-11 21:52:47
