Hi all, I am 40 and have drunk wine pretty much every night for a long time. I recently cut down by quite a lot to just 2 nights a week and a ‘sensible’ amount. In the last few weeks i’ve felt very tired and have a nagging intermittent pain in my right abdomen. I’ve been to Dr’s but couldn’t get an appointment for bloods for a week so I paid for a private ultra sound scan. The scan deemed my liver to be the right size, shape and echotexture which I was greatly relieved by but my anxiety has still gone through the roof.....surely if the scan hasn’t picked up anything then it’s unlikely my liver is totally packing up?! Is anyone able to offer any reassurance? Thank you 🙏🏻

@Blinkingblimey how are you? I don't know anything about what you asked but just wanted to ask if you're ok.

Thank you for asking NothingElse - seems it’s not my liver at fault but some sort of stomach issue, dr’s looking into it. Alcohol consumption truly curbed which I suppose is a benefit!!

I'm glad. How are you feeling with cutting down?

Very kind of you to check in NothingElse. I have cut alcohol out completely for the time being and it has been a lot easier than I would have anticipated so I suppose it goes to show how much of it was just habit. I’ve also been helped by the fact it’s the summer holidays and the majority of people are away so there’ve been no social events to tempt me!! I haven’t felt the great surge of energy lots of people mention when they’ve cut out the booze but i’m keeping hopeful it will come!!
