Tingling and Cramps after consuming alcohol

Hi everyone. It seems that lately, every time I have an alcoholic beverage I get cramps in my feet and weird tinging sensations in other parts of my body like my forearms, hands, neck and the sides of my waist. Does anyone else get this. I used to think I was imagining the painful cramps but I was pretty smashed those times so I think they were real. Anyway, I've just had three beers and my feet and body are tingling again. It feels uncomfortable. Can someone please tell me what this could be?

Do you have a drink problem op? Alcoholic neuropathy can cause tingling - it's a type of nerve damage.

Well, for a start I'd stop drinking alcohol!

Does this ever occur at other times?
How much alcohol do you drink?
Do your glands ever hurt when drinking alcohol?

I think it is something to see your GP about as well as abstaining whilst it is being investigated

I think I do have a drink problem - I have a really anxious and stressed type of personality and I've been taking anti-depressants for several years now.

HopelesslydevotedtoGU, my drinking is pretty erratic. One month I might go through two bottles of spirits and a lot of beer, whereas another month I won't touch a drop. But I get really upset and angry if I want a drink and the shops are closed etc. My glands don't hurt when I drink, nor does the tingling and cramps occur at any other time . I'm so ashamed to see my doctor but I know I should. I'm in my twenties and I hate thinking that I've permanently damaged my nerves already. .

I've seen a thread called Dry 16 on relationships so I might pop over and ask posters there if they have experienced this. Thanks again.
