Christmas card or gift for social worker

Hi everyone. We have our last home study meeting with our social worker tomorrow before Xmas. This will be our 5th meeting so know her fairly well now. Just wondering what the etiquette is re cards and gifts? Is an xmas card sufficient or should we buy her a gift? Not sure what's appropriate and to be honest, it never crossed my mind until today!!

I wouldn't give her a gift. There are rules for public sector workers accepting gifts anyway. At this stage it could be seen as an attempt to influence - unlikely I know but if auditors were to look at it they may ask questions.
However well you get on, she is doing her job, she's not a friend

Thanks. I was thinking the same thing. Will go with a card.

I wished my SW happy Christmas in our most recent conversation, and that will do me.

(And I bought christmas presents for the Aldi cashiers last week).

At the end of the day, the whole adoption thing is fundamentally a little awkward - so no need to make it more so!

Would you by your GP a present - similar circs if you ask me.
