Tell me something lovely about your DC?

We all know parenting adopted children can be bloody hard. But it's also bloody lovely so thought I would start a thread where we can share those lovely little moments.

DS is 20 months. He has been with us since Jan.

He loves to share his food with me. Sometimes he will have a mouthful of food, take a little bit out, and try to feed it to me. Disgusting of course but also lovely - it's like he's saying "this is delicious, I bet mummy would LOVE some".

My toddler daughter is very very caring, yesterday I tripped up on the lid of wood puzzle box scrapping my toes, it really hurt and I said ouch out loud, she ran off and got the sudocrem and opened it and started putting it on my foot, saying “no sad mama, no ouch”

Oh that's lovely 😍 she's obviously very well looked after by her mama to be so caring herself!

DD says ‘you’re my best mum’ which always brings a lump to my throat, tear to my eye etc. Oh and she has the best smile and gives the best cuddles. Not than I’m biased or anything

DD (7) has as many random books tucked into her bed as soft toys (and there are a LOT of those). At the first sign of a cough or sneeze from me she rushes to make me a get well soon card (any excuse to get the glitter out!) She always asks me what my favourite part of the day was, so she can tell me her favourite bit was the snuggles we have when she wakes me each morning.

DS tells me he's been so lucky to have 2 awesome moms (unlike his sister he remembers his birth mum...she was an amazing person and an ace mum). He's also one of those seemingly rare teenage boys who gives out hugs regularly!

DD, who has now thoroughly hit puberty and is a stroppy piece on a regular basis, told me that she didn't always like my boundaries but unlike some of her mates' parents, they at least made sense. High praise indeed, especially as is was followed up by an 'I love you Mama'.

My baby boy falling asleep takes out his dummy to give me a kiss, then smiles and puts it back in his mouth and drifts off....

DD2 will give anyone who coos at her a rendition of 'heads, shoulders, knees and toes' complete with actions. It's hysterical watching them realise she's never going to stop after about 20 minutes.

DD1 is incredibly caring of DD2 (most of the time). Whenever she falls over (which is a lot) DD2 will immediately grab her favourite blanket or toy and start trying to cheer her up.

My parents will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary soon and we're having a celebration which involves a family talent show. DD age 11 has decided that me and her will sing "Somewhere only we know" and insisted we practice every evening. Bless her, neither of us sing very well but her enthusiasm makes up for the lack of talent.
Ds is 14. Yesterday I brought him shopping for clothes and he finally has grown enough to fit into the XS size of a particular range if t-shirts he has been wanting so I bought him one. He told me I'm the best mam ever.

DD 13 accidentally kissed me on the cheek in front of her friend after months of saying "don't touch me!" I got a hug the next day too. It won't last school starts next week.
