What did you wear to panels and court?

Hi, just that really. DP and myself have been approved and possible match. I'm wondering what did you wear to matching/linking panels etc?

I have a christening soon and thinking a nice outfit might do all but are the panels that dressy?

Thanks, it might seem stupid pondering this but literally in limbo unable to do any other preparing for a little one.

I just went in smart casual. Black trousers and smartish top. Dont really do dressy!
I have court in 3 weeks and plan on similar. No need to be too dressy imo but sure you could get dolled up if that is what you prefer . It wouldnt look out of place .

The social workers don't dress up so no need for you to. I think I wore black trousers and a nice top.

Panel was casual casual for me, court was semi-smart (like Sunday best smart) because we turned it into an event.

Smart casual is fine, just be yourself. Congratulations Smile

I sit on an adoption panel - it would be very unusual for someone to dress in formal clothes or christening dress. Most people wear casual every day clothes and some wear slightly smarter than usual. Wear what you feel relaxed in!

We wore work clothes for panel as we popped out of work to go to it. You want to feel 'comfy' in whatever you choose.

Court we wore smart as formal occasion with fancy photos. DDs wore party dresses.

We dressed up for Celebration day, but for panels i wore jeans and nice blouse. Don't dress as for job interview, it's way more casual. Most of all good luck!!!

I wore a tea dress and tights with boots and a cardi. Sort of thing I'd wear if I was going out for lunch. OH wore jeans and a shirt. Bit of an effort but not dressed up.

No , don't wear christening /wedding outfit.

Think smart casual office wear. Plain, modest and boring. Top and skirt /trousers/ smart jeans or plain dress. DH in open neck shirt or polo shirt, tie if he really wants to. Imagine you are going for a job interview in Next.

Don't attempt to " show your personality " or be " fun". No cleavage, mini shorts or mini skirts or slogan t shirt. No bleached and ripped jeans with your bum hanging out. No stripper shoes .

You are trying to look like a safe pair of hands. No one ever got turned down for being too boring.

You are trying to impress them with your commitment and understanding of the role , not your edgy fashion sense.

Sorry, by plain dress I meant office type dress, not clubbing type dress. Not that you can't wear a dress with a pattern !

Can I confess that on the morning of our panel I dragged DH into local town and spent a fortune on an "emergency" Joules blouse with pheasants on it as I had a last minute wardrobe panic.

My befuddled theory was that I'd look nice and mumsy plus a country animal lover too???!

And now I feel cheated that I didn't have a pheasant blouse.

Better return those glittery flashining stripper shoes then haha. Okay, I've got this, plain Jane smart but casual. Pretty much anything in the wardrobe...but I'll still buy something new anyway Wink it is a confidence booster if you feel nice.

Husband and I popped out from work so I just wore an officey dress and he wore his everyday suit (though I had a last minute wobble before approval panel at my manager over whether my gold cardigan would look too "flashy" and she had to calm me down a bit!!)
