Anybody had their social worker leave in the middle of stage 2?

We have just found out our sw has taken long term sick leave and someone else will be assigned to us (eventually). We are about a month into stage 2, and had a panel date for the end of the year. Has this happened to anyone else, and if so did you have to start stage 2 all over again?

Thanks

Not had quite the same so probably not much help, but our SW went on holiday when we went to panel. She had got the report done before she went though, so we basically got her boss with us for panel and she was brilliant. I am sure they will make sure you are properly taken care of, if not, go elsewhere!

A couple I met during prep training had this happen.

From what they shared with me make sure you keep pushing for your new SW....weekly calls and hound them. Unfair on SW yes but it's every dog for himself!

Thanks for the advice, we plan to mither them until we get some answers if that's what it takes. This is our second time going through the approval process and my dw has already said she doesn't think she could do it a third time, so not sure going somewhere else is really an option for us.

How far into stage 2 are you, are all your home visits been done? I would ask if the new SW can used old SW notes or will they be starting again and if so I would ask that ALL the visits are booked in asap so that the panel date can be kept as planned.

Kill them with kindness but steely determination

So stressful without added delays. Flowers

yes, we had this happen. We contacted them most days. Eventually they sent the 2 most senior SWs round to our house to do it all in a day....
