Hi everyone. I posted on this board 3 years ago when my dp and I were just starting the adoption process (under a different name I think). We were weeks away from getting a panel date and my dp decided she wasn't ready so we withdrew our claim. It was a difficult time for both of us, and I was forced to accept that I hadn't listened to her when she'd tried to tell me earlier that she needed more time.
It's been two years since we withdrew and we've recently decided to restart our application. We're back with the same agency and from what they've said initially they're happy to restart our application, we're just awaiting the managers decision at the moment. I guess I'm partly posting for advice as to what they may be looking for from us? I imagine they will want to make very sure that my dp is as certain as I am this time? I'm curious whether anyone else has left the process and then returned and if so what their experience has been like?
Also we have been asked to consider concurrent planning as there significantly less children available for adoption now. We've been doing a lot of reading and realise that there will be a chance that the child placed with us could return to their birth parents. However on the flip side it could mean we are able to bond with our child from a very early age. I was just wondering if anyone has any experience of adopting this way?
