Preparation classes

I have a practical question, if that's ok?
I've read up about the kind of thing that happens at the prep classes, but not the practicalities, for example:
- are the classes held over wkds or during the week?
- are they full days?
- how many days?
- are they consecutive days?
My OH works in education and so has set holidays, is there any requirement on his employer to let him have time off in term time if needed?

Thank you smile

I would imagine they will vary, depends where.

Ours were three and a half days run over a number of weeks, during week days.

I have no idea if your husbands employer would be required to give the time off but I would hope he would be willing to work around this request as it is very important.

All best wishes.

Mine were not consecutive.

Ours were two days in a wk and two days in another 0930-1630

Usually from what I understand is that you should be able to take them as you would antenatal apts? But don't quote me on it wink

We had 1 full day in stage one and then 2 full days in stage 2. I don't work Monday's and 1 of the days was a Monday the other 2 I had to take annual leave for.
The best thing is to speak to the authority you have applied or will be applying to and ask them how they do the courses.
I have heard of some authorities doing it as evening classes over a longer period. I actually don't think I would have liked that as a log of the topics are very heavy going so to do that on top of a days work would have been hard.
