I never got to say goodbye, you were taken so quickly.
I never got to say how much I appreciated everything you did for me.
A mum is the person who nurses you through chicken pox, measles and the most horrendous cases of asthma.
You burnt oil and sat with me many nights and when I was scared you held me and everything seemed better.
In those days a skinny baby wasn't healthy and the sw sent me to you with lots of info on how to fatten me up
I remember the cod liver oil and malt like it was yesterday, and of course the pink glupy stuff called pennidural? for asthma.
You told me how you and Dad had to go to court 3 times for each of us 3 girls. That must have taken some courage and dedication.
You also told me the waiting time was the worst, the bit when the bm could change her mind. I can't imagine how that must feel and how you managed to get through it all.
With all the time off school and the fact I now know my genetics learning was hard for me, I am dyslexic but everyone called me retarded.
You helped me believe in myself, identified my talents and between you and Dad encouraged me to be the person I am today.
When I was bullied for being adopted you told me to tell the bullies that their parents had to have them but out of thousands of babies I was chosen, making me special.
I could go on forever, but my main point is I love you and miss you so much. You were the best mum and the best parents anybody could wish for.
I am sure this speaks for many other adopted people too.
Happy Mothers Day to all you lovely adoptive Mums. x
