After just shy of 3 years from application, we meet our little man in the morning!
We have moved to the other end of the country for Intros and in 9 days we take him home as our little one.
Excited? Not sure that's the best description - swinging one way then the other, feel hormonal, just want it to all turn out ok.
How are you sparklebum?

Good luck today allthings.

much better this end today. A reasonably uneventful night. Totally shattered though smile . cuddles this morning made up for the tiredness smile .

She's letting me comfort her when upset so that's good. I truly believe that she knew what was happening yesterday even although she's just two. Felt so sad for her yesterday sad

Hi congratulations to all of you about to embark on the journey . Hope NOT to see you on the sleep board now !! Lol

Moomoomie Mon 15-Jul-13 21:06:05

I am so pleased intros have gone well. I understand the overwhelming tiredness from everyone.
Hope tomorrow goes well.
Have just realised that my older two dd's actually moved in forever, 12 years ago tomorrow. So snap!
Look after yourselves, thank you for updating.

Completely and utterly normal. The intros week for us was just exhausting, at times we could barely speak when we got home. The day we brought her home was just overwhelming. The FCs were amazing and had told us ahead how they wanted us to leave, which meant no awkwardness, but 100 metres down the road we both burst into tears and had to pull over.

And then the "being a parent" starts. DD came with "instructions" grin which helped us with a routine (she was 10 months) but as for the rest of it, we'll we just got through those first few weeks. Someone on here once said that they felt like they were minding someone else's child for the first few weeks and that really resonated with me.

Don't try and be perfect, take time for yourself when you can, and never ever be afraid to ask for help. There are some very wise people on here.

I feel so overwhelmed - hoping that's normal sad .

Glad things are going so well with you. Its moving day for us tomorrow - our little lady is amazing but.I think we've all found the last 5 days a bit overwhelming at times.

Have fun on moving day smile

Hi middle!

3 adults at bath time when he's used to one I reckon!
Tried a new tact tonight and DH did it alone with much greater success even though LO was totally knackered.

Must say, the weather has massively helped!

Middlesexmummy Sun 14-Jul-13 20:36:17

Hi all willing
Been thinking about you all week and am really pleased its working out well , what happened at bath time ?

Belatedly, glad to hear intros are going well. Hope the journey back and settling into your home goes well too

allthingswillpass Sun 14-Jul-13 16:43:49

Well, what can I say! We are now nearing the end of day 7 of intros.
We have been matched with the most beautiful, lovely, bright, funny typical 2 yr old little boy and we will take him home on Tuesday - unbelievable!
We are 200 miles away from home which I have to say does have its advantages - no one knows what you're doing and we don't 'bump' into any one we know!
Our intros have been quite different I reckon, we had 4 hours on day 1 and working up to yesterday where we had LO for 12 hours on our own, he had a habdab last night but I really think he was just totally knackered.
We certainly haven't mastered bath time that's for sure!
Can't wait to go home now. grin

Moomoomie Sat 13-Jul-13 16:09:19

Continuing to think of you with your intros. Hope you are enjoying the good weather .

Sparklebum Mon 08-Jul-13 21:48:53

So glad you had a good day, bet you can't wait for tomorrow now.

Our intros have been pushed back slightly to Wednesday and then we bring her home on Monday.

Have fun tomorrow.

Lilka Mon 08-Jul-13 21:28:04

Sounds brilliant, good luck for all the rest new mummy smile

Happiestinwellybobs Mon 08-Jul-13 21:08:45

Good FC's make so much difference. I hope it goes well for you and enjoy every minute. I remember being so totally and utterly exhausted that week that we could not even speak when we got home after the fifth day. So take any opportunity to relax.

Good luck smile

allthingswillpass Mon 08-Jul-13 21:01:53

Hi intros will be 8 days and then home!
Fingers crossed xxxx

Moomoomie Mon 08-Jul-13 20:30:59

That sounds wonderful. It really makes a difference if you can build a good relationship with the FC.
Let's hope this is the beginning of wonderful things for you all.

Middlesexmummy Mon 08-Jul-13 20:07:39

We are back from meeting our little boy!
F A N T A S T I C!
We couldn't have wished for a better start. Perfect weather, Devine foster carers, all low key, relaxed and we just watched & played with LO for 3 hours!
Beginners luck I expect but feeling better than I did this morning!
Roll on tomorrow!

Moomoomie Mon 08-Jul-13 13:15:25

Thinking of you today, hope all goes well.
