Hello 🙂

I need some general advice re my husbands education.

He has a masters degree in Political science and is very very knowledgeable.
His education was completed in a asian country therefore we are aware he would need to complete further eduction here in the UK. We currently do not have the funds to do this.

He wants to do something part time and from home preferably.

He doesn't want to waste his education/knowledge but can't think of a way to bring it forward. Are there any home based reports he could maybe right up? Any suggestions?

(He currently does have a fulltime job which isn't related to his education.)

TIA

Why wouldn’t his Masters be recognised here? Most degrees are recognised internationally. What is he aiming to achieve, or what area of work does he want to use this proposed qualification for? It’s hard to give advice without further details.

Can you say exactly why he thinks he needs another UK qualification? Who told him this? What is the career for which it’s needed?

As said above, most degrees are recognised internationally. If he has evidence of having successfully completed a Masters at a recognised academic institution anywhere in the world that should be sufficient for him to make use of the qualification in the U.K.

Has he encountered some particular difficulty?

Thankyou for your replies.

He would need to check them through Naric who will confirm what grade they are in the UK.

The assumption that a masters degree will not be accepted in the UK as a masters degree is based on a friends experience.

He's not sure what options he has in regards to the type of job. Ideally, something that involves gathering data, research etc.

TIA

So he wants us to do his work for him?

look on jobs.ac.uk for academic jobs in the UK.

if he has the skills to program a computer to do stats / data analysis (e.g. R, python etc), then there are lots of jobs in 'data science' with businesses etc. If he can prove he has the skills in a practical test, the degree qualification doesn't matter so much.

volunteer to help a political party with data analytics in the run up to the election?
