Hello,
I started uni as a mature student, I had just turned 35 the week before, anyway I struggled to make friends as everyone was so young, I finally met a group of people my own age and lied about my age I said I was 34, I've got no idea why! Anyway this has gone on for 18 months, and I feel like a couldn't get out of it! What will I do I don't want to loose my friends as we have become close.,, help me

Just by a year?? Brazen it out! If your age comes up, say you're 35 (or turning 36 or whatever the occasion for it coming up). If someone says 'but you said you were 34?', say, "did I? Ha, wishful thinking!" or "I'm the type that writes the previous year for the date, every year until April." No biggie.

Just say you must be going senile in your old age as you sat and worked it out and you're actually 35!

I had to get out a calculator to work out my age the other day, so I regularly tell people random (although approximate ages). Don't stress!

I forget how old I am all the time.

Yeah, you are fine! I stopped being accurate with my age in my late 20's. And I seriously doubt anyone is going to remember specifically. I've got a friend who's maybe 1-2 years younger than me. Can never remember. Within a few years is fine.

I always have to stop and think if anyone asks me how old I am!

Just say you made a decision at 35 to start going backwards.
You'll be 33 next year and are planning a massive do for your 30th Grin

Do you have social anxiety? Your worry seems disproportionate. People you know are unlikely to even notice or think twice about it. It's not like you said you were 22!

(Not having a go by the way, I have anxiety).

I'm in my 'mid-forties' in my head, really heading quite fast to 50. It's all quite vague after 30 I've found.

A year or so isn't going to matter, plus your friends aren't going to be working it all out to the month of what you said a while back.

I frequently have NO idea how old I am.Somewhere between 40 and 50 but I sometimes have to do a little sum to be more precise than that.

You'd have all made me feel so much better! Not sure about social anxiety I've never really thought about it, but have been totally irrational about this Grinxx
