Hi.. I am driving myself crazy worring about this. In circle(talk) time at school last week my 10 year old son told a shocked class that his mum picked him up by his ears and kicked him because he would not put his coat on....I was not informed of this at all- the school then contacted social services who came to speak to my son, again I was totally unaware any of this had happened, my son said nothing to me about this either. The social worker visited us at home and again asked my son about the incident.. he calmly told her in front of me that we had argued about the coat, but he had felt he needed something better to tell in class, so had made the nasty parts up !!!!!
Oh god!!!
I dont know what to do, silence from the school, I assume the social worker has reported back that it was all untrue. I feel like going into the school but I dont know what to say and I fear I will be looked on a a child beater...I cant seem to think logically about it.
I wondered if any one may have had some similar incident? and how you dealt with it?
Thanks

No similar incident, but I think if anyone knows that children say stuff that's not completely 'as it happened', it's a school.

Presumably the school trusts social services and therefore know that it wasn't true, and they know you and know he comes from a loving home, so I wouldn't worry about it, easier said than done I know.

If you really were a person who'd do this, you wouldn't be worrying about what the school thought
