How many hours for cleaner

Appzy · 28/10/2021 12:07

We are looking at hiring a cleaner as with a newborn and toddler we are struggling to get it done properly

This would be for a fortnightly clean for the following areas:
4 bedrooms (one currently unused)
Office
2 ensuites
Hallway
Kitchen- diner
Utility room
Living room
Downstairs toilet.

No bedding changes etc needed.

How many hours do you think this would need to get done?

I would expect that an agency would give you an idea of how many hours. I expect at least 3 depending on how together the house is before they come.

As a single adult in a one bed flat I have two hours but I use a wheelchair so my floors are always filthy by the time she comes and I do need my bed changing

I’d say 4 hours. My cleaner is efficient but she only does kitchen/diner, bathrooms x2, downstairs loo and hoovering hall stairs and landing in 3 hrs

While it's good to canvass opinion, in practice you ask the people prepared to do it how long it would take and how much they charge.

My cleaner (who I love) does 2 bedrooms, one bathroom, living room, kitchen in 3 hours a week. That includes tidying first. And she most weeks has time to fold and put away whatever washing I've managed to do and throw on the couch ...she's a saint.

We have a similar sized house and cleaners do 4 hours per week including some ironing.

My house is probably silighly smaller (4 beds, one en-suite) and I have a cleaner every week for 3 hours.
