Why do some folk insist on inflicting their loud music onto the street?

A house a few doors down are having some sort of gathering/party.

It's perfectly reasonable and nobodies business, I'm not bothered about that and I appreciate that it's not that late - except they've chosen to have all of their front windows and front door wide open so the street is literally full of music.

All I can hear over my television is "boom, boom, boom" and it sounds like a really shit nightclub.

I'm just musing why they do that? Why do people go out of their way to maximise the amount of noise coming from the house?

I mean, do they think people want to hear it or is it a deliberate "fuck you" to neighbours?

Goodness knows. It's the only advantage of winter approaching really - as the weather gets colder they'll hopefully close the windows and doors!

I feel this too. My neighbours inflict their terrible music to everyone. Some people are just anti social and entitled I guess

I always think this about people who drive through our village with their windows down and their music on full blast. It just seems a bit rude to me. Radios on beaches too. Hate it.

Do you think there's an element of showing off to it?

It seems very "look at me! Aren't I fun and confident"

It just makes them look a twat IMO.

I also think the same about people who do it from their cars too, music so loud it's inaudible and pure bass. It's not exactly nice to listen to.

Self absorbtion.

They haven't even considered their effect on anyone else.

Self absorbed indeed.

I'm about to have a c section and need to be at the hospital at 7am tomorrow. I hope they get bored of themselves before midnight.

That’s my take on it. “Look at meeee. I’m so cooool….”. Tedious wankers.

It's not late. Try not to worry about it unless it gets late or is every weekend. As a one off it's annoying but acceptable.

Maybe the windows open is a covid measure to give ventilation? Not that it makes it any less annoying!
