Oak Furniture Land

Argh. I bought a king size bed frame from Oak Furniture Land in June and the earliest delivery was promised for 20th October.

In that time I looked on their social media site and was really dismayed and quite alarmed to read tweet after tweet after tweet of angry customers complaining about their orders from months ago still not arriving on their due delivery dates, and likewise delivery time being pushed further back another few months at least.
A customer service rep reassured me that my delivery will arrive 20th October.
Today I received an email saying I had to pick a new delivery day as delays meant my order is not available. The earliest date is 15th November. Customer service is not getting back to me now.
On Facebook, they have removed all negative comments (even though the posts notify 50+ comments), but you get the gist of things as there are loads of angry emoji's posted.
What can I do now? I really need the bed frame, obviously. We've been sleeping on the floor blush. Aanother month to await delivery is not very palatable, but what else is there to do?
Is there a chance I could get a refund from my bank? I don't know if I'm being unreasonable to request it or not, or if I should just wait and see.

One tweet sticks in my mind - a delivery date was repeatedly pushed back a month at a time. The poor lady was absolutely fed up of her hopes being dashed each time the next month came round, only to receive yet another 'sorry, your order is not available' email. She had been waiting upwards of a year!!

What should I do?

I would cancel the order and try and find a similar bedframe elsewhere.

I purchased a bed from The Oak Bedstore back in May and was very impressed - delivery fast and product good. Although you'll have to build the bed yourself.

I usually buy from oak furniture land and have looked recently for some pieces but have avoided just because delivery is so lengthy.

As they have missed the original delivery date you are legally entitled to cancel your order and have a full refund.

Have a look at the citizens advice website as I think all the info is on there

Apologies, I've just had a look and there appears to be a lot of things unavailable.

I would cancel with oak furniture land and look elsewhere all the same.

Thank you. My knee jerk reaction was that I wanted to cancel, just wasn't sure if I should do so, or just waitit out.
As I mentioned, customer service is unavailable. Their phone lines ring out with no one answering, phone options just leave you on never ending hold, Facebook messenger ignored my complaints, twitter is quiet - although the cheeky sods had the nerve to post an ad whilst ignoring the full page of complaints.

I really didn't want to contact my bank - I had to speak to.them about a website I used to order an item from just a fortnight ago. That turned out to be a scam site. I'm now embarrassed to call again. They must think I'm a right twit. What a few months this has been. One thing after the next...blush

We ordered some furniture from there once. Desk, bookcase and cupboard. The desk and the bookcase arrived fine but the cupboard had a massive crack through the top. They apologised, sent a new one and collected the old one. New one had a very similar crack. Obviously a damaged shipment. They wouldn’t send us another one. Couldn’t afford the free postage apparently. Not my problem, I want my cupboard. They flatly refused and refunded our money. Twats.

You can cancel it with them, we have just cancelled a dining table ordered in June for delivery 16th November ….. now February!

However it is a nightmare to get through, first time they told us refund was processed but it never arrived 🙄 last Friday told us they had reprocessed refund & didnt know why we hadnt received the first time!
Still not back on the credit card though!! Bracing myself to try and get through to customer services again tomorrow, last time DH waited on hold for over an hour and then agent cut him off!!! 45 min wait to get through the second time

Gosh, I'm not looking forward to the run around going by your experience Sloth. It sounds pretty standard given the reviews and feedback comments, so I'm just going to have to suck it up in order to get my near £600 back - what on earth are Oak Furniture Land playing at??
