What little things make your life better?

Other than the big stuff like love, family, support, a good job... what are the small things that make your life better or give you a lift?

For me, it has to be good music, interesting podcasts and fresh flowers. Oh and a new notepad and a pen that writes nicely.

I had a costa mocha yesterday because I was early for the school pickup. I think I have to be early more often.

I have taken an AL day today just because I need it and will go out for lunch with a friend. Both our respective husbands will do the school run (school is a 40 minute drive away) so we are planning on WINE.

A dog walk on a clear day.
A swim in our nearby lake, especially now the temperature is dropping.
Tea in one of the cappuccino mugs Grin I do this for a treat. I'm an adult and they're my own cups so no idea why I don't do it all the time...
Cooking on a weekend

True crime content on YouTube

Car tunes on my morning commute

Going out for dinner a few times a month with DP

Sex

Fancy coffee on a weekend morning (even better when combined with Matt Tebbutt's forearms on Sat Kitchen).

Box sets with posh snacks

Doing my nightly skincare routine. Nowt fancy or expensive but just makes me feel relaxed and happy.

I love ALL of these!

Definitely a tidy house and fresh bedding, especially when teamed with clean PJs and freshly-shaved legs!

And definitely YES to the nice mug. Tea or coffee in a shoddy mug ruins it.

Sixtwirlingtutus have the best day. That sounds beyond amazing.

What's your choice of posh snack @LazyMareofEastown ? I'm always after a 'new poison'

So I'm planning the most perfect day for Saturday which makes my heart sing.

Will clean the house so it's spotless. Planning on having all washing done and everything!

I will have a lovely long bubble bath with my new book in the early evening.

New PJs and fresh bedding on. I will order from the local Italian and binge You with some Baileys on ice.

And then I will sleep a full 8 hours or maybe more.

All this makes me so so very happy.

My list:

  • flowers, double the enjoyment if they are from my own garden
  • the way I feel after yoga
  • looking at an area/room/the house when it has. Bee decluttered and cleaned (not during)
  • settling in with a good book
  • brunch. The most delicious of all the meals.
  • brunch with good friends. The most delicious of meals at the chattiest time of the day
  • being greeted like a victorious Roman emperor by my parents’ dog
  • that second I wake up on the weekend and realise it’s a non-work day
  • talking to my sister for hours on the phone about nothing (rare we get the chance, these days)
  • working from home on a Monday. It has made the Sunday night blues disappear
  • a good meal out with friends/family
  • preparing for Christmas
  • the smell of roses or sweet peas
  • the taste of home grown tomatoes
  • bruschetta
  • diving into a wave just before it breaks on you
  • emerging out on the other side of a wave and feeling the pull against the water
  • my cat when he is asleep (and therefore not misbehaving!)

Good friends, nice coffee, swimming in the sea, blankets on the sofa, singing, something to binge watch, cat sleeping on me like right now - like a furry hot water bubble.

Also fresh sheets, and curling up in bed on a cold night.

All of these things are so gorgeous to read.

I've been meaning to start yoga with Adrienne on Youtube and you've inspired me to just give it a go instead of just thinking about it.

@Morgan12 your Saturday sounds like utter perfection.
