No surprise that the met have stopped. Their investigation into PA.

OK? Considering the current climate could it be they haven't actually found anything?

They know there will be a public outcry they will get other people in to investigate the investigation so its in there interests to find the smoking gun if there is one

Perhaps *as creepy as he is) he is...innocent?

Pixxie7 Sun 10-Oct-21 23:06:53

The queen is spending millions to defend him apparently but at least his siblings and PW are aware of the potential problems he has caused.

If you have special information do share it with the group.

Pythonista Sun 10-Oct-21 23:09:49

The queen will throw him under the bus to protect the crown. So will Charles and William

VladmirsPoutine Sun 10-Oct-21 23:20:25

It's not surprising they dropped it like a hot potato. That said, when he can no longer hide behind his mum there's no way Charles is going to let him rain on his parade and William won't want the association. I think it's really only a matter of time. The damage has been done; the interview with Maitlis was one of the most absurd things I've ever seen.

Bit extreme

Theunamedcat Sun 10-Oct-21 23:36:35

Scotland yard have done two investigations and reviewed the "new evidence" they simply have no evidence that a crime has been committed on British soil we cannot do a thing about crimes in other countries even the mcann case (for example) we are only allowed to investigate if they allow it we cannot go in and take over demand all the evidence etc etc its all diplomatic

lnsufficientFuns Sun 10-Oct-21 23:36:44

You can do what the fuck you like if you’re part of “the institution”
They’re all untouchable
There is so little accountability or shame or consequence.

Nothing ever gets challenged unless you’re female and wish to discuss, protect, or defend your rights not to be raped or murdered or otherwise diminished.

This is why women keep being treated like we are.

It’s exhausting.

And it’s disgusting to use publicly funded civil servants to dodge being served like we saw with that ridiculous cat n mouse sitch in August.

Or could it be they've not tried too hard to find anything? Just maybe 🤔

SecretKeeper1 Mon 11-Oct-21 00:09:06

Haven’t they dropped it after speaking to VR? I wonder what was said.

julieca Mon 11-Oct-21 00:24:18

Andrew is untouchable. Of course, nothing was going to happen. The RF are above the law. And I suspect they know it.

Heresme33 Mon 11-Oct-21 00:36:36

Oh what a surprise another cover up for the royals sure we knew that was coming.

KloppsTeeth Mon 11-Oct-21 00:44:08

He gives me the creeps. He is such an arse.

cruzrack Mon 11-Oct-21 01:01:02

It's interesting (in a good way) the Met have said this today as just yesterday the RF were in damage control and "sources" saying they don't want anything to do with Andrew. When I read that in the DM, I knew it was BS. The taxpayer will continue to pay for this, as the Queen backs up her son. It's absolutely appalling.

GCAcademic Mon 11-Oct-21 01:13:22

I don’t know why people are turning this into a big class issue. It’s not like many accusations of rape ever get anywhere near a court in this country anyway. What’s the prosecution rate? 1% or something? It’s not like other men who may or may not be rapists need to feel hard done by compared to PA.

the80sweregreat Mon 11-Oct-21 06:39:33

I'm not surprised.
The establishment always win.

😂😂😂 well that's clearly all the information there is

Mybalconyiscracking Mon 11-Oct-21 06:44:04

He is an arse, but the age of consent in this country is 16 and she was older, so he does not appear to have committed a crime under British law.
What do you want the Met to do?
I certainly think there are better things for them to be getting on with.

gringringrin

Do you understand how Google works?

Farahilda Mon 11-Oct-21 06:48:31

they simply have no evidence that a crime has been committed on British soil

this ^^

It's not an institutional cover up. It's a matter of jurisdiction

we cannot do a thing about crimes in other countries even the mcann case (for example)

Well we can, but only when the relevant law includes explicit provision for extra-territoriality (such as terrorism). But it's basically true for nearly everything else.
