I'm sorry I let the last thread get away from me. I'm doing my 2022 budget this week and I have a new employee starting next week.

Apologies to any new posters I missed welcoming on the last thread.

Welcome, @Unsure1983. Are you waiting for small fries as in children, or French fries/chips?

@nydj, your husband should start feeling much better about two days after starting the antibiotics, so perhaps your holiday won't be a total waste.

@SoloISland, what parcel are you expecting from the US?

I discussed electrics with DH and he got very excited and started producing many diagrams.

DD is booked in for PCR tomorrow in walk in.

DS finally has his school lunch card and yesterday he bought 2 bread rolls and mashed potato for £1.55. He always tries to negotiate discounts as he says he hates being ripped off. He was very pleased when he could get oranges through for 10p as school had miscoded them as ketchup and he gave me a long talk on 'ridiculous apple inflation at school' whilst apple size decreased.

DD had another negative LFT though not sure how good her self-testing is as she said tonight it is supposed to go on tonsils but I have no idea where they are so I just put it on any random spot in throat and test.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 17/09/2021 06:56

You cannot miss tonsils (if you got them)

Report
Silkiescatz · 17/09/2021 07:33

She has tonsils though she is supposed to use pcr now not lft so I booked her pcr test.

DHs alarm has been going off for about 20 minutes and dh is fast asleep. I cannot get him to wake either, he is sleeping on his good ear.

DH visited his DM yesterday and met the mobile vacc. squad - so she had her booster and she was lucid and recognized him and talked to him!!
He endend up in the last train back to Berlin ("Lumpensammler"). That train collects all the people that missed their regular trains and those on trains that got cancelled for engine problems etc. - he arrived at 3am - 1,5 h late.

That's good Prok and glad he is home.

DS has gone to school with loads of tissues, DH and DD are asleep, I feel like death and taste and smell nothing, eyes watering constantly, struggling with breathing, rashes everywhere, nose blocked, permanent mucous in mouth, coughing a lot to point of being sick with it. So much fun.

I decided to vac the bedrooms but the filter on the vac needed cleaning so I washed it.

Just ordered some new foundation from clinique which is meant to be calming for red complexions, hope so as I am permanently mistaken for a tomato 🍅

I’ve got some new foundation from some people who claimed they could match my skin tone if I shared a picture of my face with them. They’ve actually done a really good job. They sent me a little tester pot to try and approve first (which so far has lasted a week - woo boo, free foundation!)

Thanks Prok They are back, DD said it was also self-test for pcr with no supervision just a leaflet pinned to wall. Said results 1 to 3 days. DD and DH are both back asleep. DD seems a bit better.

Our robot hoover is being delivered today and the second Hobbycraft parcel. Had a bigmac but could not taste it and a lemon drink and I can tell sour.

DS is still at school and had chips for lunch.

The plumpers office just phoned to arrange dates for fixxing all the stuff on the list: Monday, yay!
DS wants to learn how to cook rice - being who he is he needs a detailed written instruction and sb to stand next to him for the first few times.

Beds have been made.
Food shopping done yesterday.
Going for swim later and then a large glass of red wine at home.

There you all are!

We still have no internet, though there are mutterings it may be working soon (rather than Monday morning as originally estimated)

Back to work in a couple of hours for a run of five night shifts Hmm

That's good things will get fixed Prok When we had the plumber and the electrician out I was disappointed that nothing got done though the electrician is being very helpful with plans. Both suggested very big jobs.

Hobbycraft parcel 2 has arrived. We are still awaiting robot hoover. I have been monitoring the movements of the Yodel van all day and it has been in our village twice already then gone out both times. But it should arrive before 9pm.

DH went to shop to get some food but said there were mainly bare shelfs. As I can't taste a thing its all the same to me. So I will have Muller Corner yoghurt and green grapes. I can taste sour a bit and had asked to eat a lime but they had none. I am drinking lemon juice and water though.

Silkie And it is not me supervising - DH and DD will be there, I will be at work. But of course I have to create 'Baufreiheit' - make sure the guys have enough space to work in, emergency buckets and rags are prepared etc..
There will be no hi-viz involved - technicians (water, gas, heating) traditionally wear blue or dark green.

I have found a YT video of Valter Zanardi reading one of my favourite stories.

Here its traditionally a dark blue boiler suit.

The hobbycraft order is lots of craft things for DS. I asked DH to give DS some of them and DH said no rabbit will play with them and make a mess. Sad but realistic. So I said to DH to give DS the whiteboard and marker pens I got for him. I don't think rabbit will play with them though I may be underestimating rabbit.

Rabbit loves piles of paper and he first takes one at a time and spreads them all over a huge area then he makes holes in them. It is like having a toddler again. though tbf to rabbit he is 2.5.
