Food shopping ideas?

My partner and I have 7 friends coming over (late 20s) on Saturday to get ready/have pre drinks as we’re all going out afterwards.

I’m wondering what food shopping to get in? Everyone’s said we’ll all get a takeaway together if they’re hungry. So I don’t need to worry about cooking but I am unsure what snacks/drinks to buy and how much. I have never had this many people over at once!

Are you getting a takeaway before you go out or when you get back? (I can’t eat if I’m going out drinking, Takeaway would be eaten in slobby clothes for lying down in!)
I would just get some olives and crisps and nuts in for snacks if that’s for the before part, if you’re getting drinks in too then a couple of boxes of beers, couple of bottles of Prosecco, vodka/gin and some mixers. You’ve probably got some of that knocking about anyway so just go on what you and your partner like to drink and expand slightly on that. I haven’t got ready to go out at someone else’s house since I was a teenager though, we just had stolen booze from the parents cabinets and food was never considered so feel free to ignore me Grin

So I'm late 20s too and seem to be the default host as I have the space.

I get the 3 for whatever deal in Tesco with the olives, nice meat and cheese. A couple of garlic flat breads I chuck in the oven. Hummus and salsa and crisps to dip. Also some sweet things like the mini brownies and mini caramel shortcake boxes. Oh and bread sticks and cheese twists.

If we're not getting a take away I would get some of the large sour dough pizzas from Lidl as they're nice and easy.

A couple of big pizzas to share, tortillas and dips.

Tortillas and a selection of dips are always good - maybe 2 -3 big bags of doritos and 3 or 4 dips.Maybe some bowls of pistachios? You won't really need much else if it just pre going out snacks.

Ready salted crisps, grapes and olives.

As a guide, you should get 8 small glasses out of a bottle of prosecco (if mix with juice you may get a bit more)
