I am hosting a bbq tomorrow. there will be 7 adults present. One of veggie (but others will eat veggie food) and also my DM who doesn't eat much.

8 beef burgers + veggie burgers
6 sausages + veggie sausages
Rolls for the burgers and sausages
(Not sure what veggie products are best. Any suggestions?)
Chicken skewers in Moroccan marinade
Halloumi skewers also in Moroccan marinade
Corn on the cob
Basic salad
Moroccan couscous salad
Potato salad
Coleslaw
Relish/cheese slices/beef tomato and iceberg lettuce for the burgers.
Banoffee pie for pudding.

Is that enough? Do I need more burgers/meat/veggie stuff? Thanks!

I’d probably do a bit more but then I always end up with food that I eat cold the next day.

How many vegi burgers and sausages?

I’d definitely get more sausages so there’s 1.5 per meat eater. How many chicken kebabs?

Report
BeaBeaBuzz · 30/07/2021 10:15

If probably do 2 puddings too

I don't know how many veggie sausages and burgers because I don't know which ones I am going to buy and how many will be in the pack.

I am buying meringue nests and will have berries and cream for those, however I know my guests very well. They will all go for the banoffee!

I could get more sausages. I would eat them the next day heated up for breakfast.

Personally one burger bap, one sausage bap and one chicken or halloumi would be enough in my circle of friends with all the sides too! You could chuck some wedges in the oven for extras or do some marinated chicken wings.

How many of the skewers? Ime most people will try one of everything unless they usually have a small appetite or are dieting. No one ever eats the green salad. If there isn't enough meat, the veggie stuff will be eaten instead leaving your veggie friend with not much.

Why not get two banoffee’s then and maybe another dessert you can put together quite quickly if needed?

Yeah, I would get more sausages definitely!
Have a lovely bbq 😁

I would only add another pack of sausages and perhaps some crisps and sweets to nibble later.

How many of the skewers? I don't know as I haven't made them yet! Probably a big pack of chicken breasts diced.

Ime most people will try one of everything unless they usually have a small appetite or are dieting. DM has a small appetite

No one ever eats the green salad. This will be eaten. I love not as does DM. When I say green I mean with tomato/cucumber/pepper/radish and avocado

If there isn't enough meat, the veggie stuff will be eaten instead leaving your veggie friend with not much. They are relatives and all will ensure veggie person has enough.

Thanks for all your input. Extra sausages and crisps are added to my list now. It had better not rain tomorrow!

I'd get more sausages in just in case. Otherwise sounds great!

If it is people you know very well, will they not bring food too? I would never dream of turning up to a barbecue at my close family/friends without at least a couple of packs of sausages/burgers & a pack of beers/bottle of wine. And they would all reciprocate.

We have had that discussion. I am providing all the food as this is what I want to do. They will bring whatever drinks they want.

Sounds like you have come to a good arrangement. I just wondered if that would allay your worries about not having enough food.

Sound delicious op, I wish I was coming!
As all your guests love banoffee pie, why not try BBQ bananas too as an extra desert?
Disclaimer; This is just one I found, I haven’t tried it but I do love bbq bananas. www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/bbq-rum-caramel-bananas/amp

The Linda McCartney veggie mozzarella burgers cook really well on a bbq. You can find them in the freezer section.
