I'm currently on my second course on antibiotics for a cyst. Might be worth getting a call with your GP

I had one a few years ago and used a hot flannel it eventually popped was a sight to behold I laid in bed with a bucket of boiling water next to me and kept dunking the flannel in at that point it was too big to walk much took an evening maybe 5 hours of keeping the hot compress on the hole time. Good luck don’t envy you at all.

Overly dramatic I know but would the gp pop it/Lance for me?

Would mag sulphate work?

Lance with a sterilised needle and then get a glass bottle and run under hot water until the glass feels hit then place the neck of the bottle over the boil and as the glass cools it will create a vacuum and drain the pus.

I would only do this for emergency relief.

Hot bath followed by magnesium sulphate under a dressing overnight might do it. Where exactly is it?

It’s right at the top - erm on one of the flaps. 🤣

Does Amazon sell it. Going off to google.

Are you sure it isn’t an STI? Like warts or something?

Try the magnesium sulphate after a hot bath. Local pharmacy or Sainsbury's pharmacy should sell it. But if it is a cyst it might need surgical removal. You musn't put magnesium sulphate inside you though.

No it’s really not an STI. That would be a miracle.

I used to get these regularly when my Period was due, I learned to stand in a hot shower and pop it with a sterilised needle. The relief is immediate, you can then squeeze the gunk out in the shower, wash, and it’s done.

That’s one less worry I suppose!

I’ve had a boil on my vulva, and good god it was painful. You have my sympathies.

Could be a Bartholin cyst. Very painful, probably need some antibiotics. You have my sympathy 💐

Ok ignore my post, mine wasn’t that. Don’t Lance it.

If it's a Bartholin cyst (it sounds like it is) it can become infected and then is very painful. The relief when it's lanced will be immediate and then antibiotics to clear up any infection. I've only had one, it was 20 years ago, and I still dread it returning!

@Ohbuggeroffcovid

Yes that’s it!!

I thought it might be!
Very common. Bath in very warm water, see if it pops. If not, It will probably be absorbed back into your body and clear itself.
If it gets too sore, looks infected, get antibiotics from the doc.

I've had Bartholin cysts, geez they hurt. Local sexual health clinic as good as the GP!

Report
userxx · 29/07/2021 20:42

The relief when it pops is like nothing else. A hot flannel should bring it to a head.
