No , I dont mean things like Live Love Life etc , each to their own but thats really not my thing .

I am in the very long proccess of redecorating , so I am stripping wall paper off .
I all of my old houses there have been little notes under the wall paper 'such and such lives here from x date '
But other than a few decoraters marks and mesurements their is nothing in this house .
So I am going to write somthing like Al moved in to this house on x and did this decorating on , , , today / tomorrows date .

What else can I write ?

What have you found wrote under wall papper ?

I've never heard of anyone writing anything under the wallpaper. I have no wallpaper though.
Maybe you could put details of this thread under the wallpaper

We put our names date we moved in and date we wrote it, and that it’s a very happy home ❤️ I think it’s a lovely thing for future people.

Ooh! Make sure to cram some newspapers into cracks in the walls etc (unless that's no longer considered safe to do) or use them for lining shelves etc. We loved finding old papers in our "new" house when I was a kid

We wrote underneath something in an old house.
I think it was something like
TR
❤️
GY
Maybe the year
But we were much younger and dafter then

I quite enjoy finding things like old newspapers under carpets. In our current house we pulled up a really old carpet that had a previous owners name on the back. A brief glimpse into the life of a past inhabitant.

We wrote our names behind the kitchen cabinets when we replaced them in our old place.

And have a height chart for the kids in this one in the garage.

Dparents have “the big spider lives here” below a hole in their garage. No idea if it’s true. Never stuck my finger in said hole.

When I moved in I found a message saying “too much sex gives you double vision” written twice (once slightly over the other) the house belonged to a pair of pensioners who had moved their n when it was built over 50 years before. GrinGrin

On the chimney breast of my parents new house the plasterer had written
“Do not light fires”
5 years old me wrote under it “ we will write fires”
I’ve stood by that for the last 58 years

Onces I have got all the decorating done I need to recarpet to and intend to put some newspapers under the carpet , esp if i can find adverts with prices and note worthy head lines . we did this as kids and adults in all of our houses , and I remember a rather stuck up posh ladiy that lived on our st asking my Ddad to help her lift a carpet only to find the person before her had used newspaper as underlay ( like many people did then ) but all of the papare were things like News Of The World / Mirror / Star compleat with topless page three girls ! She did not know wher to put herself and swore my Ddad to secrecy Grin

Boring newspaper under carpets here, they had irritatingly managed not to include anything with house prices on. We did find a typewritten prayer to protect the house from hurricanes. You are supposed to recite it every year, I have framed it and hung it in the back bedroom and usually manage to remember to do it. House still standing.
