Australian MNers- my sister might have her baby today and I’m very far away.

Seeking kindly Australian Mumsnetters to send positive vibes to my darling sister who seems to be in active labour now in Australia where she lives with her lovely DH and my smashing little nephew. Nephew number 2 currently lining up for hatching from the sounds of it!

I’m stuck in Ireland and I have to go to bed as dawn breaks over there so I’d be very grateful if someone could take over my fretting for a few hours. Nothing to strenuous, just a bit of gentle fussing and hoping she’s getting on ok every once in a while would do nicely.

Happy to repay the favour and take on any mild worries of yours in return once I wake up and go back on duty😊

In Melbs. I'll fret for you!
They sound like a lovely family. How exciting to be adding a brand new person to it.

Aw thanks! They’re ace. I love them. Just wish I could cut Ireland’s moorings loose and sail on down south right now.

But a locum fretter in Melbs will do nicely until then so thank you Flowers

Fretting for you in Adelaide! :)
If it's any small comfort, I found the medical system here AMAZING when I had my DC. She will hopefully be receiving the same excellent care.

I feel for you... and huge good luck vibes to your sister!
My DS1 is in Oz (went out on a couple's visa just before the first lockdown) and in the meantime DD2 married and had her baby 3 weeks ago and he's stuck there. He loves Australia and his (awesome) fiance but he's desperate to pop home and meet his nephew and just be with us again! FB video just isn't the same!

Fingers crossed for a gentle delivery and a fab new baby!!

Ooh congratulations to your sister. I'm in Aus too and happy to send positive vibes to her, baby and family. I too had a fantastic birth experience here so wishing her the same.

Happy thoughts and positive vibes from the Adelaide hills! I'm sitting snuggling my now 10 month old baby who none of my UK family have met, she's gorgeous and I'm sure your new nephew will be too!

Thank you all so much! Still no baby. Things slowed down again so it could be a while yet.

@BritInAus and @CrystalDeCanter her care sounded incredible last time round so I’m sure it’ll be the same this time. Sounds like an excellent system.

@canihaveacoffeeplease and @Montii congratulations! Enjoy those gorgeous snuggles❤️

Will continue my vigil now 😁

Hope all is going well with your sister! (I also hope she's somewhere WARM. It's bloody cold in SE Aust tonight.) We're all looking forward to some happy news from you in the morning!
