I am putting together the play list for a 50th birthday party (for 2022) and would like to come up with a collection of floor fillers. Nothing older than 70s disco please so NO stuff from the 50s or 60s please. Also no rap, hip hop and R&B. Cheesy is fine provided it's cheese that makes people get up and dance. Go! Grin

Do you have Spotify?

The It's a Sin soundtrack has some bangers. DISCO playlists too. What kind of music does this person like?

I don't and I'd rather download that music so even if the internet connection is wobbly or has issues the playlist is safe.

Another vote for Spotify here. I'm a total convert. It's so much easier tweaking ready-made playlists than starting from scratch, and having instant access to just about every song ever recorded. And you don't need an internet connection at the party. Spotify gives you the option to download everything to your phone so it will play offline.

(If you don't want to pay £10 a month yourself I'm pretty sure you could use a free account with annoying adverts just to set up the playlist, make the playlist public, and then find a friend with a paid account to play it on the night so that it's advert-free.)

Quick search on Spotify led to me saving an 80's Floorfillers play list and 90s Club Classics/Dancefloor Fillers. A very good starting point!

Tiger Feet always gets everyone up dancing - well it gets me up!
Stick to classic pop - ABBA etc. Stuff everyone will know. 1970s/80s always seems the most popular eras.

I know you've said you're not keen on Spotify but I think you can download music Spotify premium if you did want to go down that route.

There was a splendid twitter thread the other day of happy songs by Mr Nick Harvey the son of Paul Harvey (who improvised "Four Notes/Paul's Tune"). A very thoughtful poster compiled into a 37 hour playlist.
