Baby lotion?

Butter?

I've also heard about the grease from your eyelids too. Maybe I'm making that up, but a weird thing to imagine

Baby oil, baby lotion, Sudocrem?

Lanisoh or Sudacrem

I've used sudocrem in an emergency

Cooking oil would work beautifully. I sometimes moisturise my hands with olive oil when I'm cooking and washing my hands a lot in between tasks, I've used it on my lips and it's rather effective!

olive oil. Also great for sore, dry hands.

Another vote for Olive Oil

Nivea is ok on lips if you happen to have some. Perhaps any unscented moisturiser?

Olive oil. Baby oil maybe. Sudocreme?

Funny, I was going to say the oil from the nose crease!

butter,olive oil or coconut oil.

Is sudocrem not a bit drying? I'd go with something oily, or a moisturiser. But most importantly drink loads of water

Olive oil

Strawberrysaxifrage · 04/05/2021 19:39

Any cooking oil or even butter

Hand cream. Don't put anything on you'd try and lick off, you'll make them drier

Report
TheUnexpectedPickle · 04/05/2021 19:45

I'd scrub the dry skin off with honey and sugar or your toothbrush then use olive or coconut oil.
Heavy duty hand cream like body shop hemp hand protector would also work, but don't lick it!

Not sure I can bring myself to put butter or olive oil on my lips Shock

Although I have both.

I have some baby oil too. That feels a bit more palatable.

I'll give it a go!!

My grandmother used butter when she was young (1920s). She said the salt was healing.

That's made me smile Crunchymum. I would far rather have edible substances on my lips than chemical. (I was going to suggest olive oil ...)Grin

Lansinoh is amazing for sore lips just in case anyone else is in the same position but happens to have nipple cream in the back of a cupboard 😂

I would definitely have gone for (edible and perfectly inoffensive) olive oil over baby oil 🤢

You can make lipsalve out of olive oil and beeswax. I have, it's great. No idea why someone would put something inedible on their lips rather than something edible.

Oh and hydrate. That's normally the actual issue.
