Trying to book vaccine, error message!

Apologies if this has already been discussed at length in the coronavirus topic; I hid it ages ago and can’t remember my desktop login to unhide.

Anyway, I was very excited to see this morning that 42 year olds like me can finally have our vaccinations! Straight away I went online, armed with my NHS number to book, only to be met with an error code 9907 because the NHS can’t find my record to see which dose I need (not surprising as I haven’t had one yet) Confused I reported it to 119 as advised, and the person on the phone told me it’s a common problem and to try again in 24 hours. Has anyone else experienced this? I know it’s not the end of the world, but I’m anxious about side effects and just want to get on and have it so it’s out the way.

Trying lots of times is normal, iirc.

Try again but click the option to go ahead without using your NHS number. I’ve no idea what mine is and I managed to book ok.

I’ve tried without my NHS number and I get the same message. There was a thread the other day where the OP’s partner couldn’t book because he’d been deregistered by his GP. I wonder if that’s happened to me; I haven’t made an appointment with them for a couple of years.

@Mrsfrumble, I’m glad to see you post this as I get the same message. I have checked and triple checked with my GP who promise everything is in order their end and the problem is with the national database. I’ve been with the same GP for years so I can’t imagine what the problem is. When you call 119 they sound confused as it is an unusual error and promise it will resolve in a few days, but it hasn’t yet - that’s the message I’ve been seeing for over a week. Before that they couldn’t locate my records at all! I’m not yet eligible but want to be able to book as soon as I can and am anxious I’m not in the system.

I’d be very grateful if you could please post back once you have got to the bottom of it as you are more likely to get somewhere with it now that you are eligible. I suspect you will have to call both your GP surgery and 119 several times in order to figure out where the issue is. I suppose one option is to find a walk in clinic where no appointment is necessary. Good luck!

Hi @Sophocles1, sorry to hear you’re having the same problem. I’ve just spoken to 119 again, who confirmed it’s a glitch in the system and will pass my details on to get it fixed within 48 hours. If it’s not done by then I’m going to try and find a walk-in (hopefully not too difficult in London).

I’m dreading the side effects (every 40-something woman I know who has had the Astra Zeneca has felt wretched) and I just want to get it over with as quickly as possible.

Hi guys! I had the same error code 9907.
I have moved years ago so I just tried to type my older/earlier postcode and that was OK for the system. I hope it helps for you too.

OMG- this is the first mention of this error code all week. I am 42 and got the same message. 119 said I needed to talk to my GP. I am waiting for them to tell me how to resolve this issue. Will keep you posted

Have you phoned your GP to check they have all your details correct?

I've got the same message 3 days running - I also think I'm de-registered having not been to the doctors for around 9 years.

Interesting that 119 are giving out different messages / advice. I’ve checked on the myGP app I use to book appointments (pre-Covid) and I’m still registered with the surgery. The 119 person I spoke to seemed to think it was a problem at their end, so I’ll just have to wait. I wonder if it’s happened with other age groups? Because I’ve been Googling, expecting accounts of the same error code from others and there’s nothing at all Confused

I’m not sure if you are close to Wimbledon but the stadium is offering Moderna and I think they are accepting walk ins but you might want to double check that.

Have you tried booking through Swiftqueue? If it's any consolation, I'm a mid 40s woman who had her first AZ jab 2 weeks ago and apart from an achy arm the next, have had no side effects whatsoever.

Thanks everyone for replies. My GP swears everything is in order their end and I tried all my old post codes without joy, so I remain grateful for any other tips. Sorry others are having the same problem!

GP just called me back they said there was nothing they could do as their policy is to only do the second vaccine. THey said I had to go back to 119. Called them back and got a very wishy washy answer about the system didn't know that I was 42 yet as my birthday was 9 days ago. BS if you ask me. Basically, they said to try again in a week to two weeks time. Maybe once the 40+ are announced then it will work. Who knows. Good luck

Bloody hell! I think we can safely conclude that 119 have no idea then. I’ve been 42 for 8 months.

@3WildOnes I’m in NE London, but would actually consider travelling all the way to the other side if this nonsense carries on, so thanks for the tip.

Anyone had any luck yet? For me, the issue -rather predictably - was not fixed within 48 hours Hmm I’ll give 119 one more try on Tuesday morning then I’m off to the nearest walk-in.

@Mrsfrumble I’m afraid not! I spoke to someone at 119 today who at least was honest that it was a computer system problem and she couldn’t fix it and didn’t expect it to be fixed any time soon. It’s a bit upsetting to be shut out like this to be honest. It would be really helpful to know if you experience any issues with the walk-in clinic. Good luck!

I feel I should add that I am incredibly grateful to everyone involved in the vaccination effort in case that wasn’t clear!! Just don’t want to miss my turn!

@Sophocles1 I’m sorry, it’s shit isn’t it? Facebook and Instagram keep showing me adverts about booking a vaccine, and I’m thinking “I’m bloody well trying!” 😬😬
Agree that the vaccination program is an incredible, miraculous achievement, and there were bound to be blips; it’s just a bit rubbish to be one of them.

Keep trying. I got a screen that said I'd missed an appointment I hadn't been able to book for a date that hadn't yet arrived the first time I tried. I did manage to get an actual appoingment in the end using my name, DOB and postcode after revisitng the website a few times over the next couple of days.

Also, for what it's worth, I had the Astra Zenica and it caused me no problems other than a mildly sore arm for a couple of days, which might equally have been caused by some vigorous gardening. Hopefully, it will be as forgiving for you.

I think just temporary fluke - I got mine done via hub rather than GP and had some initial difficulty as I wasn't in right age group so I kept getting rejected. Keep trying, you'll get it sorted
