Any hairdressers help me communicate to mine

I am a hairdressers nightmare. I struggle to articulate what I want.

I really want a massive change but I dont want my hair coloured I don't have time for the upkeep. So I know its hard to overhaul hair with just a cut.

So this is what I'm thinking atm is

I want it short but not above my shoulders.

I want choppy shaggy layers.

I want a fringe but I have a coos lick and a small head. So I want bangs the closest thing to a fringe thats not a fringe.

Does such a haircut exist? 😖😖

Google choppy shaggy layer hairstyles, save the ones you like onto your phone and show your hairdresser.

As pp says - find a picture of what you want.

Pinterest is good.

Bangs and fringe are the same thing.

I wouldn't have said that was short?

I thought bangs have a parting ... and a fringe comes all the way across?

I thought bangs is the American word for fringe.

Bangs? Fringe, you mean? (Please don't let this be the latest word to infiltrate the English language.) I do understand your problem OP. I have a cow's lick and it's utterly infuriating and is hard to style properly. The long shaggy layers also can be problematic as I can't bear those that cling to your chin and a lot of hairdressers seem to cut them that way. Pps are right about taking a picture along.

Bangs is just an American word for fringe. They are the same thing

Bangs is the American word for a fringe. I think you might be thinking of a curtain fringe.

Curtain bangs theyre called nowadays.

Best thing you can do is show them a pic

Get googling and also check out Instagram. I find going in with a picture is the best. Even better if there are pictures of multiple angles (back, side). Also be prepared it might take a couple of cuts to get it completely right. As in, they do it like the picture and next time you get it trimmed you might ask for the fringe to be shorter/or left longer or more layers depending on how the hairstyle has been going for you.
