The headache of car buying... what am I missing here?!

Our family are looking for a new car in the next few months. I sent a link to a friend who is helping/also interested. I sent them this link:

www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202102088819978?make=FORD&onesearchad=New&onesearchad=Nearly%20New&onesearchad=Used&include-delivery-option=on&advertising-location=at_cars&radius=25&minimum-badge-engine-size=1.6&postcode=bs216pr&price-to=6000&sort=relevance&year-from=2014&page=1

And they came back instantly with: "no way! Can't you see it?!"

And my question is: see what? What is the thing wrong with this car I am missing? Is it an awful brand of car and I didn't even know?!

The mileage is huge

The mileage is huge, the price on the windscreen and the asking price are different, the rear of the car has I suspect been thrashed and then badly valeted.

It is diesel.

All of those sound reasonable and make sense - thank you! I have been scrolling through ads for a while so I have called it a night now. It was due to the vociferation of their reply - I genuinely wondered if it was something like a hole in the floor or massive dent I had just missed!

Mileage is very very high! No way would I even consider it.

77k miles above average. That's absolutely massive.

The mileage on that is insane!

No way on earth.

Mileage is crap. My 2018 car bough5 last year had 8000 miles on the clock.

It did 30000 miles in 2018 but not so much since. (Use the government not history checker, you can see the registration in one photo) diesels do go to 200k or more but are no good unless you do long journeys. Second hand injection diesels are money pits, although it is a manual so a bit less to go wrong there.

Do you want a big engine suv?
