How many pizzas would you order?

So in the absence of being allowed to do anything for my sons birthday again I am thinking of ordering some pizzas for my ten year old son and his football team mates for after training.
There are 12 boys in the team how many pizzas would you order? The options are Pizza hit, dominos or papa Johns. I'd rather not remortgage to feed them so am looking at using a deal if possible!

8 large pizzas . Dominoes often do a 40% off or similar .

I always find that dominos is most popular with DC and friends. They always have lots of deals on their website (though it still costs a bloody fortune), best to have a look at what deal suits your order requests best.

Sorry, meant to say that I would also get 8 large pizzas but some sides too.

How old are they? If they're 8 or so, I'd say 4 so a full pizza for every 3 boys (possibly with some to take home for leftovers). If they're 15, then, yeah, 8 as PP said. If it's after training, they'll eat it!

Ugh. I looked twice and STILL missed that you said they're 10 until after I posted. Sorry!

I ordered pizza for my Dds birthday after a pool party, plain ol' margherita was the most popular, they were like piranhas whereas they other flavours had slices left. I'd order enough for 2-3 slices each.

They are mostly 10 with a couple of 9 years olds

I’d order 6 large and some sides. That’s 1/2 pizza each which is plenty.

If it's on a Tuesday Domino quite often do "two for Tuesday" which is buy one get one free. Or if you collect on any other day it's normally an offer like 2 large pizza £19.99 etc

Online they do 40% off total bill with an over £40 spend too which works out good

Do you know if any have allergies?

Dominos have even better deals if you pick them up yourself - if there's one close it's definitely worth doing

I think pizza hut do 50% off orders over £50. I would go four large pizzas and bulk it our with supermarket bought extras like nachos, sausage rolls, crisps and cookies. My nine year old would eat half a slice. 11 yr old three slices.

At least 6 large ones so they get half a pizza each and I’d still probably get a few sides too. My older DC are 8, almost 10 and 11 and we also have a 2 year old plus DH and I. We get 4 medium pizzas from dominos plus 2 sides and rarely have leftovers.

Papa John's do buy one get one free, I would have thought 6-8 pizzas would be enough

Another option, could you buy a variety from a supermarket and bake at home? Use the saved cash for something else at the party.

10 year old boys, post training I'd factor for 1/2 a large pizza each, plus sides.
So 6 pizzas. 7 to be safe I reckon.

One each?

I will check about allergies before I commit to anything but they should be ok.
I would do home baked ones to wave a bit of cash but the training is the other side of town and for the hour before so I've no way of going home to cook them and bring them back. If I order it's easier and a bit more of a treat I guess

'I’d order 6 large and some sides. That’s 1/2 pizza each which is plenty.'

Exactly my thinking too... more than enough esp if you're ordering garlic bread and a couple sides aswell.

I'd say at least one large pizza between 2 so 6 pizzas. Do you have any local independent takeaways near you that do pizzas? All of ours do buy one get one free so that could make it cheaper?

Papa Johns is better than Domino’s

6 Dominoes, as long as they also come with the mini garlic breads,a nd maybe some wedges as well.

'Papa Johns is better than Domino’s'

Is it? This must be area dependent as the one we tried was poor and hardly any toppings. It was disappointing to say the least.
