What’s your hobby?

My main hobby has always been unspecific socialising, have tried a few things in lockdown but nothing has stuck, I’m half being nosey half looking for inspiration.

Do you run, knit, bell ring, fund raise?

Do you truly love it or is there another motivation?

Alone or (previously) part of a group?

Curious as to what other people are doing? The more niche the better!

I trail run a fair bit but I am getting a bored of it, so I am starting surf ski lessons next week. I also read a fair bit- 1/2 books a week. I'm a director of a charity but that's not really a hobby, although I find it rewarding.

Dancing - I take a tap and classical class each week

I read, run, bake, and do exercise classes but don't count them as hobbies

Pre COVID singing in a chorus and doing dance based fitness class 2x a week. Music motivates me. Started running last April to replace the classes. Has to be to loud music though. I really miss singing with my chorus 😢. I’ve always liked reading and enjoy cooking and baking as well. Hate craft Asian have no patience.

The only hobbies I have are pre-covid.
Going to the gym
Meeting up with 6 friends every month for dinner and drinks. We have done this for the last 10 years ( I really miss this and it will feel so strange to meet up again)
Shopping is my hobby😄

Not sure where the Asian came from, as I have no patience.

I knit, always have my knitting on the go when I'm watching TV.
I love it, very relaxing.

I don't even think I have one really. I like reading, spending time online and eating nice food all of which I do daily, wouldn't call them hobbies though as they're hardly passions, I don't identify with them nor are they a personality trait. I read an awful lot but wouldn't care to join a book club, say, or be deeply affected if I had to stop reading.

In the summer i enjoy visiting gardens, NT properties etc, the beach. I'm happy as is and don't feel I need a 'hobby' I suppose, over various interests that wax and wane as part of a normal life. Perhaps I'm very dull!

I make soap & my own toiletries, but started that pre-Covid.
Also enjoy baking, cake decorating (DC birthday cakes mainly) & gardening. Currently rediscovered my enjoyment of games (Switch).
Pre-Covid I loved being out & about with DH & DC, visiting local places, seeing friends & family.
Also enjoy writing but currently don't have the energy/inspiration/time to do this, same with reading - enjoy it but am too knackered at night to read in bed.

Normal times archaeology. I've got my fingers crossed this year's season will go ahead in the summer.

Covid times, reading, walking, drawing, auction browsing, not eBay- normal auctioneers are all online.
My mum cross stitches and I'd love to have the patience for that.

Cooking/Baking and reading seem popular.

Running too.

@Apurplesquirrel making own toiletries, how did you get into that?

@Insert1x20p what is surf skiing?

@MacDuffsMuff do you do cross stitch kits or just freestyle? Apologies have no idea what the right terminology is...

Travelling probably.

Horse riding when i was 3 stone lighter.

I have a disabled DS and I guess my main hobby as such is trying to make his life enriching and fulfilling so I like to create experiences for him (mainly again around travel).

@DoItYourselfNeverHappensAtOurs I can understand how that would become your main activity.

I would like to try horse riding, only been once on a school trip YEARS ago. How did you get into it? Can an adult take it up? Do you need your own horse?

Oh horse riding is the best thing ever :)

There should be stables near you? (Even in London there are stables). You can do beginners lessons. Or hacking. Near me (I am not sure about this lockdown) but certainly last year riding stables were still able to operate because there was natural social distancing!

if you google riding lessons near you something might come up?

I hope you are able to try it out. There is nothing quite like being with a horse. Thanks

Showing dogs and horses. Miss the weekly shows and and prep so much and can't wait to get back to it but enjoy being owned by the dogs and horses in the meantime and day to day!

Oh, and I know people who took up riding and became extremely good at it. There is a lady whose name escapes me but she took up riding as an adult and became an olympic level, Dressage rider.

And there are clubs, at all levels and all sorts. It's the most fantastic hobby.

(I might be off to weightwatchers to lose that weight). :)
