IKEA delivery

Hello...anyone ordered anything for IKEA delivery lately? I went on today to checkout my basket but it said no deliveries are available just now due to high demand. Anyone else had this and did it resolve quickly? Hoping it's just a temporary backlog as it's my dd birthday presents, knew I should've checked out last week 🙄

Just keep trying, then hope that all the items you want are available at the same time, then order as quick as you can!!!

I've ended up paying £45 for one delivery then £15 for a delivery 2 weeks later as two items I'd been waiting for since December finally came in stock. Annoying, but Ikea is 5 hour round trip, when it's open and Wales and England lockdowns align, so the delivery isn't too bad relative to the journey, but annoying having to pay twice.

I'll keep trying but it's not items not available it's delivery full stop. They say they're too busy to take any more deliveries. I'll keep trying though. I have sourced one of the main items on eBay store so at least I know I'll get it elsewhere if need be. Thanks

You need to keep trying. Last week I had a slot for early May but lost it as I was too slow to pay. Then it was showing 'delivery unavailable' each time I tried, for over a week. Finally it gave me a slot again, though it was for let May.

I ordered lots of large items last week - ordered on Tuesday lunchtime and delivered at 9am on Wednesday! I had to remove two kitchen doors from my basket to make it work though - if those doors were in the basket then it said delivery not possible and only offered click and collect.

When I log on now, I can get the doors delivered end of Feb, but obviously that'll be another £40 delivery. Frustrating!

Try adding one things at a time to your basket and you might find you can have most of it?

I've been here recently (as well as my recent click and collect "fun"!).

I was getting the same as you, but kept trying twice a day and got there eventually.

Ikea isn't doing very well at all with its logistics during COVID.

IKEA delivery is rubbish. We had some stuff delivered and the packaging was all split, multiple items were damage and one missing.
They sent a replacement- also damaged. They then took 2 months to send a refund and never sent a non damaged replacement. Plus the delivery costs are extortionate, most places do it free if you're spending over £100.
I would wait and go to the store instead!

I finally managed to order 2 metod kitchen cabinets and doors last week. I've been trying since December. Delivery at the beginning of march. So it seems they have got some back in stock.

I don't think it's anything to do with stock or what I'm ordering as it just comes up with a message saying...'sorry, our delivery is currently unavailable'

Yeah IKEA have been a fucking nightmare with their delivery during Covid, go and look at the trustpilot or whatever site it was and the reviews for them are now breathtakingly bad.

As others have said you'll sometimes need to remove certain times from your basket to make it work, and keep trying on different days/times. When you do get a slot, expect it to be bloody ages in the future, and for them to potentially mess you around further as things you have ordered and paid for may still be suddenly unavailable when it comes to delivery day if you're unlucky, and they just shrug and refund you. Grrr.

I had that too. Sometimes it depended what way I had got to my basket (by adding items from a wishlist or a shopping list, or directly).

Try emptying your basket and adding everything again. It may or may not help!

I had two pairs of curtains from them last month, I had a choice of delivery slots and only had to wait about a week.
Maybe the problem is on bigger items or down to area.

Good luck!

Between us and DS we placed an order for over £1,000 last October. Some we received in approx 6 weeks but yesterday had yet another part delivery of more incorrect items. 😬

Going to be a very long time before I order from IKEA again.

Got it ordered! I added in a £15 mirror that I'd been swithering over and it went through...delivery scheduled for this Wednesday so will see. Got a few weeks until I need it all so hopefully be okay. Thanks all

I've been trying to get a delivery slot for the past 3 weeks with no joy. The click and collect is only available in Aberdeen for the items I want...I live the other end of the country. I would order from somewhere else but unfortunately the items are matching ones to ones we already own.

I'm wondering if my mirror put my order into the large items category? It was £40 for delivery whereas before it had been £15 (when the mirror wasn't in the basket) . Could it be down to small vs large delivery?

Is the small vs large delivery a covid thing too? I’ve not looked for a while but was surprised at the £40 charge for furniture delivery a couple of months ago, there was a time when delivery was fairly reasonable, even for furniture (I know when they first started doing delivery it was all on vans sent out from the stores and was expensive, but this definitely changed for a while).

Also, stuff like a lightweight metal shelving unit definitely just used to be sent by parcel force, but now they’re charging for large furniture delivery.

Shakes fist at Happy I’ve got a delivery due next week. The first available date was over three weeks from ordering, though tbf I can see that’s nowhere near as bad as some of these experiences.

But when I’m paying £15 and none of it’s especially large (biggest is a picture frame for the wall), I did have to grit my teeth. Really surprised at the level of logistics from something the size of IKEA, though I do appreciate delivery of smaller items isn’t their core business at the best of times.

Report
Aveena · 14/02/2021 15:47

For clarity, that’s £15 just on delivery charge, not order value, obviously...

I am having a nightmare with this. I want an armchair, footstool and an outdoor sofa with some accessories. The sofa is either out of stock, in stock but the other end of the country, or in stock but no more delivery slots left. The website is so clunky.

I had a delivery yesterday but had to pay £40 (so I ordered extra to make up for it), we live far away from ikea and usually go for a day out or whilst we are away on holiday. Their delivery charges are crazy but I was desperate for some furniture for dd's room.
