DS is desperate for a PS5. He’s been saving money for over a year and finally has enough. What are the best ways of getting one? Does anyone have any hints or tips?

I managed to get one a few weeks back, I signed up to twitter alerts and from that I joined a discord group, it was the discord announcement that got me one, by the time the ps5 twitter announced they were sold out. I have deleted the discord group but it was a link from ps5 UK stock update on twitter
If they're selling out overnight to either bots or real people, then you're unlikely to get one in the short term unless you do the same or pay over the odds from the resellers.
How old is DS? If he's saved up the money and is capable of making an online order, why can't he buy one if he waits up for one to come in stock?

My phone is incompatible with discord. Which twitter site did you get the link from?
I've told DS it could be a year before he could get one.
Oh I totally understand your frustration OP. My DS wanted one for Christmas and we still owe it to him. I’ve got an alert set up on HotStock and an alarm sounds whenever anywhere gets stock. However, even when I have clicked the link the second the alarm goes off, it is still out of stock by the time I get on the website! Its impossible 🙁
Dp managed to get one a few weeks back but he spent days being awake from midnight onwards following certain twitter feeds and sitting in online queues every time stock came in.
@ButterfliesnWaterfalls we wanted to get one last week from ShopTo. It hasn’t been dispatched yet so I’m still a little concerned, but they have taken the cash. I may still try again with other retailers tomorrow.
@ButterfliesnWaterfalls. Ours arrived today so it was a legitimate site after all. I was worried. I know Argos restocked at 3am and sold out in seconds. Very are restocking in the next hour. Good luck with your search

Ooo that's good yours has come!
I was up from 12-4am trying Argos but non available and then when it did become in stock, it didn't work.
