Please can you suggest a book that made you laugh out loud. I need more laughter in my life right now, and I am bored of streaming TV/film Shock

Many of Bill Brysons earlier books. I had to stop reading them on the Tube as I laughed so much. I must've looked a little crazy!

Roddy Doyle - most of his - although there's a dark side to them as well usually.

I always recommend Janet Evanovich’s Stephanie Plum series - first book is One For the Money. Rachel’s Holiday by Marian Keyes is head and shoulders above the rest of hers. And yes to Bill Bryson.

I tried that Emma Kennedy one because it gets recommended so much on here but wasn’t a fan. I don’t think I bothered to finish it and that is rare for me.

Yes I was going to mention Bill Bryson too! The one where he travels round Europe, it’s called “neither here nor there”. It’s absolutely hilarious. Smile

Terry Pratchett's Discworld books. Though not the first four, he took a while to hit his stride.

Sorry, not the first three. Mort is book four and is very funny.

Round Ireland with a Fridge, Tony Hawks. Properly laughed out loud. French Revolutions, Tim Moore is another cracker and A Year in the Merde, Stephen Clarke is terrific. Love travel as a genre!

Yes indeed to Bill Bryson.
All so funny. The Thunderbolt Kid if you wanted just one pick.

Three Men in a Boat, Jerome K Jerome

Wodehouse Blandings Castle etc

Lilian Beckwith's books set on a Scottish island. I remember reading them in my teens and being vastly amused

Any David Thorne book, Stephanie Plum series, Jason Byrnes autobiography, I've just re-read it and still laughed.

Emma Kennedy's ' the tent the bucket and me' has got to be the funniest laugh out loud book I have ever read! One of those books I wish I could forget so I could read it again
