Amazon prime - worth it?

Anyone that's got this recently, would you recommend it? Has it got different things to Netflix?

Also any good films or tv series recommendations that you can only get on there please?

I have prime for deliveries the tv is just there, I mostly forget about it. I do like new Amsterdam on there though, hospital drama.

I find it gets bursts of good content but tends to go stale for a bit.

The TV isnt great but there are some decent films (1917 and Knives Out). There are loads of series. It has been a game changer for me with delivery. I just cannot lug sufficient cat food and cat grit so just order it

I like Prime. I use it far more than Amazon Recommend
Bosch
The Boys
UnReal
New Amsterdam
The Wilds.
Little Fires Everywhere

I also binge Greys Anatamy, Criminal Minds, Bones, The Xfiles, Lost and loads of true crime series on there.

I order alot from Amazon so totally worth it for me.

We have it and it's well worth it for us. We use it for deliveries, tv & film, prime music and I use Prime Reading & Amazon First Reads on my Kindle too. I wouldn't bother if it was just for the TV though.

Marvellous Mrs Maisel is fab. A few good films and series on there, but I tend to watch Netflix more.

Marvellous Mrs Maisel and This Is Us are brilliant. I do watch Netflix more but Prime has a good range of its own stuff.

I sometimes get Prime when a new series of The Expanse comes out, just for a month, and I usually have a look around to see what else there is to watch. However, the last time I did that I was halfway through a series (not The Expanse, I can't remember what it was) with a couple of weeks left on my Prime membership when they suddenly decided that most of the Prime programmes weren't available in my area, so fuck 'em I'll buy the next series of The Expanse instead.

I had an offer of a month's trial after buying something just before Christmas given the shop restrictions. Lovely for a short period but not worth it for a subscription so my month's trial is not being converted to a subscription.

Same @peak2021, they gave me 2 months for some reason but it's coming up to expiry so I'm going to cancel.

Never tried Netflix. Is Britbox any good?

We have several deliveries a week minimum, sometimes daily in the pandemic so Prime is a must. We don’t watch much in it apart from a few films and Grand Tour, but we do have Netflix, Apple TV and most Sky channels and there’s only so much time!

Prime for deliveries as we can’t go out and I borrow books from the Prime library free. I could buy books for 99p on several sites and easily spend £10 a week, so this is cheaper.

Next day delivery is a game changer.
TV and films are adequate, with some gems.
If you're a reader, it's very worth it.

Prime isnt really a TV service, would you not use any of the rest of it?

Like @Dotinthecity I get way more value out of just the free books that than it costs me. I don't order much from amazon so that's not of value to me, there's music as well.

I have to say that I'm surprised that it would be viewed as firstly a streaming service tbh.

You can also get free Morrisons grocery deliveries with Amazon Prime if you spend over £40

TV is OK, not as good as Netflix. We have it because we live rurally and it's lockdown. Prime delivery can be a lifesaver if we need something quickly (though it feels like the range of things eligible for prime delivery just gets smaller ....)

We have it, mostly because we wanted prime for deliveries. It's fine, but we rarely use it to watch anything. Mostly Netflix or Disney +.

Yes for Outlander , discovery of witches, SATC , desperate housewives and loads of films . Some stuff you do have to pay extra for though which is a bit annoying

I'm listening to the music now in the bath. I read the books, but mostly, free next day delivery

Does the Prime Reading element equate to Kindle Unlimited? I have the latter and wondered if Prime would be better value with that included.

Amazon Music is free with Prime - great to link up to a speaker and some good playlists.
