I'm sorely tempted by the V11, the reviews seem great but the cost is somewhat eye watering.
If you have one, are you happy with it? Well, actually I'd expect you to be ecstatic with it at that price. Is it miles better than the cheaper dysons?

At the risk of sounding rather old and boring...
It is excellent! Easily the best vacuum cleaner ever, picks up so much dirt you will be utterly horrified the first time you use it.
I believe my husband has used the phrase "life improving".

If the price scares you all in one go buy from AO.com where you can spread the cost over a year interest free.

Thanks so much, I was hoping this might be the case. We've got a coded miele, which is great but really heavy and half the time I can't be bothered to lug it about. Thanks for the interest free tip too

I have a v6 which is fine when it works but gets jammed up with hair even though I got the animal version.

I spend as much time pulling it apart to free up the roller bits and get it working again as I do hoovering. Is the v11 better for this?

I got the animal v11 as a gift. I love it so much! When we first got it it felt like I was emptying it constantly, but it was just picking up everything the old crappy vacuum missed. I love that it’s cordless - we have toddlers and carpet and it is amazing to be able to just take it out of the cupboard and clean without faffing with cords. If you’re able to get one, go for it

@Covidcovid this is the reason I asked as we used to have a V6 and I got rid of it as it was utterly useless. Got clogged up and kept cutting out all the time. Apparently Dyson changed the design for V10 and 11 so I'm hopeful there is an improvement

We got the v10 last year as the only difference i could see was the digital screen. I absolutely love it. The upright we said would go upstairs - it hasn't been out of the cupboard since. I can (just) do our full 4 bed house on 1 charge on max, it's so lightweight and quiet and sucky Grin and we have 2 cats

I have a v11, the v7!has been relegated upstairs. It felt like a luxury buying a new one but cleaner couldn't manage whole house on v7.

It's definitely better than v7. The plain v11 is £499 which is one I have then there is animal models and absolute which is the £599 one I think.

Thanks so much, this is so helpful. I have oak floors downstairs so thought I might have to get the absolute as it comes with the fluffy head, Having had the floors professionally sanded and revarnished last year, I am a bit paranoid about them being scratched.

I have 8 upstairs and 11 is a massive improvement. So much easier to hold and battery life is miles better. You do need the fluffy head for hard floors though as well.

Ooh now I'm interested. We've got the 6 I think but it's always clogging and losing suction and I feel like it doesn't pick anything up.

I have the v11 to replace a v7. It is brilliant. I don't bother with the fluffy head for hard floors. The other head adjusts to the floor so suction is more when I move onto carpet.

The v7 is now upstairs but doesn't get used much.

Wish I'd never clicked on here!

My DH thinks I'm Hoover obsessed. So the v7 we have and we can't do the whole house, so we use that for the quick whizz around and use our big plug in dyson for a bigger clean, I also have a vax.

I'm now thinking the v11 sounds like it would replace my two dysons in one go!

I’ve had my v10 coming up 3 years now and I love it. The 45 minute run time is brilliant and I love that it’s lightweight because of my frozen shoulder.

@H1978 that is really good to hear. I sometimes worry that they don't last well, so it's great to hear yours is going strong 3 years on. I can't decide if it's ok or slightly tragic to be so excited about getting a new vacuum cleaner

DH loves his. I like it for a quick whizz under the kitchen counters. Fab if you can get your head round the money.

Are you me ??!!

I was the same, corded Miele, got fed up of lugging it about. I did some homework, trawled every website that sold the V11 for prices etc, bit the bullet and got one.....I love it, it makes life easier and I find I put the hoover round more often as it's so quick, you will be shocked what you pick up the first time you use it.

cashmerecardigans · 13/01/2021 23:01

@WhatsTheEffingPoint that is exactly it, I can't face dragging the Miele out, so I just leave it, which isn't great with a spaniel in the house.
I'm so reassured by this, DH will think I'm mad, but that gives me crate blanche to raise unlimited eyebrows at his never ending cycling expenditure Smile

I’ve gone from the Miele to the V11. It doesn’t pick up any more than the Miele but it’s so much more convenient to use. And it doesn’t seem to need so much time spent yanking hair out of the rollers (I have 2 girls with long hair).

I’d say it was worth the cost.

Love our v10. Dyson customer service was fantastic- replaced two parts that I had broken when I dropped it🙈 I also have a Miele- their customer service was among the worst I've ever encountered. We bought the new bagless one about two years ago- great suction but when the handle broke in the first six months they refused to do anything to replace it as 'that shouldn't happen'

I'm the exception to the rule, I think my Dyson is absolute shite! I have a Labrador that sheds loads and it's just not up to the job. The suction is rubbish when using the attachments to hoover round the ceilings (cobwebs) and nooks and crannies, and it's rubbish on my rugs which are 'flat' woollen ones as opposed to shaggy ones.

I've gone back to my corded Dyson, an old pull along one, the suction is so much better.
