What would your least fun day look like? (Lighthearted)(15 Posts)
I don't mean a day filled with actual horrible things, more stuff that really isn't your cup of tea, but someone else would probably love.
So for me it would be:-
An early start (zzzzzzzzz.....) with lots of motivating music playing, maybe a workout followed by a full on pampering session and into a gorgeous outfit. A trip to a gallery that only has obscure modern art that confuses me. Lunch at a spicy food based restaurant. In the afternoon, a walk through the park to feed the birds (vom), then off to watch a subtitled movie. Dinner at somewhere highly rated thay they only serve postage stamp sized yet delicious meals, then onto a night club til 3am.
P.s zero judgement here people
Ooh... up at 5:30 for a jog, then into a greasy spoon for a full English breakfast. Then back home to watch daytime TV. Lunchtime, go and have my nails done, and then a couple of hours shopping. Make a wonderful time consuming meal for 12 guests and then spend the evening knitting and retire to bed at 10pm.
Spend the morning at a Cordon Bleu cookery class, including a talk by a wine expert about what wines go best with cheese. Meet up with a group of friends to go clothes and make-up shopping followed by a neighbour's baby shower and a Peter Kay special on tv. Have a refreshing speedy shower in lukewarm water and retire to bed with Cliff Richard's autobiography.
A baby shower!!! I forgot to go to one of them
Being woken up for early morning sex. Then some freshly brewed black coffee. Watch morning tv and spend an hour scrolling on facebook. Then off to a huge shopping centre to purchase an outfit for a wedding. Lunch at a pizza place with my old housemate. A trip to the hairdressers, a takeaway from the chippy for dinner and a night watching the soaps and eating Cadburys chocolate......
Woken up early by the alarm/binmen/courier knocking on the door. Breakfast would have to be accidentally hard boiled eggs on too toasted toast with underripe avocado, and a coffee (made with only one scoop).
Then we go off for the wedding of a distant-bit-not-distant-enough-to-not-be-invited relative. You know the kind. Canapes, long waits, shit vegetarian option and awkward small talk. We'd probably skip the reception to have an afternoon/evening to ourselves.
Afternoon would involve doing some yoga or pilates at home. I may even clean the windows/pressure wash the patio/vacuum under the sofas.
Evening would include a delicious home cooked meal, a new recipe that looks amazing but tastes distinctly bland and average. I'd then watch a nice long film. Something like lord of the rings before sleeping on the sofa for the night
Woken up early and being presented with a full English breakfast in bed. Going on Go Ape followed by a visit to a spa including massage and pedicure. Evening dinner combined with a murder mystery evening with a formal dress code. Having to drive home.
Woken up at an ungodly hour by workmen/dogs barking/people arguing. Having to watch breakfast TV. Go to lunch at some ultra trendy place that costs a fortune to eat awful food which the chef refuses to cook any other way than their way. Pay a fortune to drink wine which tastes like paint stripper in oversized glasses, whilst sat on sofas that are far too low down and have to use one unisex dirty toilet. Come home to someone parked across my drive and workmen shouting and bawling in the next doors garden whilst pretending to work. Watch a very long fantasy film. Drink Guiness and eat olives.
Joe Wickes workout
Nutella porridge for breakfast
Long run in the rain
Home for another cold shower
Avocado on toast lunch
Afternoon shopping for make up, clothes, handbags & shoes
Pornstar martinis with friends while having mani-pedis and facials
Watch several episodes of a reality TV show like
Real Housewives Of Somewhere
Dinner of oysters, followed by lamb cutlets with aubergine, turnips & swede, double chocolate gateau for dessert with rosé wine
Listen to experimental jazz while reading misery porn / chick lit books, drinking whisky
Go up to bed finding I'd stripped it that morning, forgotten to make it again and ALL the bedding is still wet in the washing machine
Had to double check the title. I like the sound of some of the days posted 🤣
Ok. Least fun for me:
An early start for morning jog
Healthy green smoothie
Getting fake nails done
Going for long walk
Visiting trendy modern art gallery
Salad and sparkling water lunch in over priced brasserie
Visiting friends with babies or small children
Drinks in packed pub
basically the day you have said op. Other than feeding birds and I am fine with subtitled movies .
Too rainy to go out for a run
Sit in front of a computer all day
Have to decide what’s for lunch and dinner again
Watch TV all evening.
Oh wait... that’s every day ATM 😂🙈
This is a great idea for a thread! Mine would be:
Early start, write in my gratitude journal to set me up for the day
Something energetic and healthy like pilates or jogging
Get in the shower (before breakfast), nice and cold to wake me up
Breakfast of overnight oats and chai tea
Spend the morning cleaning the house top to bottom and doing a load of ironing
Skip lunch because I'm never really that hungry during the day, maybe have a grapefruit as a snack if I'm peckish
Sip cucumber water throughout the day from my trendy water bottle
Spend the afternoon at a historical museum where you have to spend ages reading the plaques for any of it to make any sense
Go shopping for some new shoes, try on loads of pairs
Spend the evening watching an obscure film about the cold war with ukrainian subtitles whilst snacking on pork scratchings
Go out clubbing
Have a really late night then get up early again the next day because I don't need much sleep
Early morning, blazing hot sunny day, heating on full blast, radio on, fruit for breakfast, hours of ironing and having to fill the car up with petrol. Coronation street followed by eastenders, then an early night and no mumsnet on my phone.
Early morning start with a Joe Wicks workout. Porridge made with water for breakfast.
Something active like paintballing or parkrun. Sushi for lunch. Then an afternoon cleaning the house and ironing. Spend the evening home alone playing Playstation games drinking beer.
I actually like a lot of the things PP have mentioned, love spas, getting my nails done and pornstar martinis
