If so, what do you play? Are they good ?
I'm not a huge game player but I'm very tempted by the pink switch lite

I have one, not the lite version though. I haven't picked it up in ages because I've been back at university but throughout my pregnancy I played a lot of Zelda, Stardew Valley, Mario, Monopoly 😂 Two Point Hospital and some Rollercoaster Tycoon.

I'm 34.

We have the other one though that you can play on the TV, not sure if ringfit will work on the lite but zelda will

Yes. Zelda, picmin and animal crossing are my favourites

Thanks for the replies

Second question - all the games I've looked at are 40/50 pounds - is there a way of getting cheaper games ?

Yes, I love Zelda, breath of the wild, pikmin and Mario Games.

I wouldn’t get the lite version though, I prefer to play on the tv, but can also use it as a handheld device.

We’ve been playing the room on my sons switch (like a virtual escape room). It was only a couple of pounds downloaded.

I also love Mario kart

Yes we got one at Christmas 😊 and no DC in household! We are enjoying it, it’s a useful distraction in these times when life just feels like wfh wfh wfh. The games are pretty pricey, you can download them from the Nintendo store (not sure how much cheaper that makes them) or game do a pre-owned section (not sure if online as well as in store as obv all stores closed at the moment). Amazon and eBay too.

I have one. I don’t get much time to play it, but I’m loving my bursts of Luigi’s Mansion 3. I’m nearly 50.

I play on my DSs a lot. I love Zelda, Mario Kart, and am enjoying Fenyx Rising at the moment (cheaper knock-off of BOTW). I would definitely buy one myself if I didn't have DSs so handy Grin

Well this is all making me want to buy one 😊

@zenasfuck Nintendo normally have offers on the digital download versions of the game, so you can get % off the rrp. There is a shop you can browse via the Switch once it's connected to WiFi. Second hand games would normally be a bit cheaper still. Try eBay, FB marketplace etc.

Yes. Well, the Lite.

Full price games seem so expensive, but there are much cheaper games available in the eShop. Of course sometimes they're cheaper for a reason. But quite a lot of Switch games have demos so you can check them out first.

Among Us is less than £4 on the Switch and very addictive! (I play in the evenings sometimes.) But the big games are all £30-50, yes. Animal Crossing and Super Smash Brothers are my favourites of those.

We got the normal Switch a couple of years ago but only really started playing it this past year.
Games I love: Overcooked; Zelda BTW, Stardew Valley
We got Animal Crossing for DD at Christmas & it's ok but only if you're the primary player. Also got given The Witcher but haven't really started that yet.

My DS got one for Xmas last year and I play it all the time. Zelda breath of the wild and Fortnite are my games of choice. I would definitely recommend it. We have a normal switch, not the lite and we do use it on the tv a lot as well as handheld.

We have a switch, over Christmas on the Nintendo shop online there was a free game called Hue, its weird at the start but a really addictive game. It's a puzzle adventure and you play each world by changing the background colour. We pass it around when any of us get stuck and someone completes that world or room.

Also to add we love Mario cart deluxe and super Mario bros deluxe.

We have a regular switch. Love Mario kart, Mario U deluxe and Ringfit especially

Yes my son got a proper switch for Christmas and I bought myself the lite the following week to play animal crossing 🤣 x

If I only wanted to play hand held and not on the tv, which would folk recommend - lite or regular?

I’ve got the pink Switch Lite. I bought it just before Christmas, just on a whim, and I’ve only got one game for it so far, the 51 Worldwide Games one.

I really enjoy playing it though and would like to get more games. I’m brand loyal to Nintendo going right back to the NES and also the original Game Boy (still got it) in the very early 90s. I’m 51.

I find for some games the Switch Lite screen seems small. But the full Switch screen isn't that much bigger, 6.2 vs 5.5 inches. Both similar to a lot of smartphones.

The full Switch is ready for local multiplayer in tabletop mode, the Lite is really aimed for one person per device. (It can do tabletop mode but you'd have to buy controllers and a stand separately.)

But the Lite is £80 cheaper. That's a big difference.
