Looking for a spill proof and leakproof travel mug

This seems like such a basic thing to ask about but I'm looking for a leakproof and spill proof travel mug for my lockdown picnics walks. Prices vary wildly! Are the more expensive ones worth it? If you have one you'd recommend, why do you love it?

I would say Contigo ones are worth the price. Mine is completely leakproof (I would trust it to go into my handbag, if I ever use a handbag again). It keeps things scorching hot, to the point I have to take the lid off to cool it down before drinking sometimes.

Mine was in store at Asda for £13 but I’ve not seen that type elsewhere.

Second contigo. Best one i have ever had and I've tried a few!

I love my contigo snap seal. The plain stainless steel ones can go through the dish washer. I prefer to rinse the lids separately as my dishwasher can suck the rubber seal out.

Mine is leakproof, spill proof, has survived being dropped repeatedly. It stays hot for hours. I’ve completely gone off takeaway coffee now that I can have it exactly the way I like instead.
My favourite thing is that there is no part that can’t be cleaned or you need a special brush to get at.

I’ve got a contigo as well. Used to use it a lot back in the day when I travelled a lot for work - wistful sigh!

I love my chillys one - new version. Will quite happily sling it in my bag without fear of it leaking

We all have Klean Kanteens in various sizes.

They are expensive, but I like the fact you can get different lids (cafe cap, chug, straw and closed). That makes it perfect for us,

Definitely Contigo - well worth the money. If you or anyone you know is a Costco member, they often sell them. Also check on eBay.

DH has a Bodum one that you plunge like a cafetiere to make posh coffee. Stays warm for ages with a seal lid.

Also a Contigo fan, mine was from Asda.

It keeps super hot for ages as well as so far being completely leak proof (had it a few months).

I love my Thermos Travel King cup. I've been using this one for three years, and take it everywhere. I've not yet had a failure, and it is frequently horizontal in my handbag.

My only quibble with all my flasks (including my Chilly flask) is that when removing the lids for cleaning/refilling, they are sometimes hard to unscrew (as the liquid cools, it pulls the lid on tighter) so I keep charity wrist bands around the middle for extra grip.

Contigo here too. They were on offer on Amazon, £9 each and worth every penny.

The Waitrose one for £3 is by far the best I've used. And it's lasted many years now

Contigo here too. Lock the lid and toss it in a bag, no worries.

Contigo stainless steel (painted ones lose their paint in the dishwasher).

Contigo.

I left one at work when I went on maternity leave, so now I have two 😬

Contigo (the stainless one) all the way. Its the only cup that I don't have to unscrew the lid of that I trust to fling in my handbag, and you also don't have to touch anything on the lid to drink out of it when its sealed

Wouldn't touch contigo these days. Last couple have been rubbish and there are so much better quality others.

Thermos or Built. Thermos because they are best at hot or cold and you can open them one handed. BUILT because they are very simple to clean, nicest to drink from, and no fiddly bits to lose or clean

I have an Emsa Travel Mug Insulated Drinking Cup with Quick Press Closure from Amazon - it is excellent, never leaks and by far the best Ive ever had.

Another Contigo fan here. Got ours from Tesco’s.
Loved it so much, that went back and got a couple more. Throw it in my school bag, and it’s still lovely and hot when. Finally get round to drinking it!

Contigo.

I am so disappointed!
I thought you were going to say it was still hot when you came back.

That’s the same as the Tefal one. Emsa is the German company owned by Tefal and it is sold under both brands.

Thank you. Looks like Contigo is a winner, but they have various models and I definitely want one which can go in the dishwasher so I'll have to do some reading up.

You won't get a vacuum flask that you can put completely in the dishwasher. The dishwasher messes with the vacuum. In reality you may get away with it but you will dramatically shorten the lifespan.

I have a few of the Contigo Stainless steel ones. The lid goes in the top rack of the dishwasher. They were very expensive. Over €30 each. But worth it.
I'm in Ireland and am amazed at how cheap posters can get them in Asda.
