Good morning
Can any of you tell me if the Greek Yogurt from Lidl is worth buying? I eat this probably every other day, and usually buy at Tesco or Sainsburys, but a new Lidl has opened nearer to me, and I want to try doing a shop there.
TIA.

There seem to be vastly differing opinions about what is and isn't worth buying in Aldi/Lidl. I think it's best to buy everything you usually would and see if you like it.

There have been things recommended here that I've really disliked and vice versa.

I love it! Really thick.

I really like it. I buy the pack of 4 full fat individual pots because I can't get through the big pot quickly enough.

Oh, a big 500g pot doesn't last me a week!

Yes it's really good. I put raspberries and honey in it and it's yummy.

DH thinks it's the best he's found

The fat free one is gross- the regular one is good.

I don't think it's quite as good as the branded one, but the price difference makes up for it.

I add raspberry, blueberry and oats

Or, grated apple, cinnamon and oats

A tiny bit of coconut sugar sometimes if I want something a bit sweeter
🙂

I think their Greek yoghurt, cheeses and a lot of their deli stuff is excellent - ditto their storecupboard stuff and chocolate. I don't think much of their fresh fruit, veg or meat though - mainly because it doesn't seem to keep very long. But it's always worth a trip, I think.

I buy the full fat Lidl Greek yogurt, it's fine - I have it with fruit and honey if that helps

I'm still heartbroken (not really) that they no longer do their Turkish yoghurt. My, was that good stuff

I eat a LOT of 0% Greek yoghurt and I go out of my way to find a Lidl so that I can stock up on theirs as it's my favourite. Very thick!

I really like their full style Greek yoghurt, love it with pecans and a drizzle of maple syrup.

I found a dark chocolate and orange mousse in Lidl. That's very nice indeed.

I used to shop at lidl but since lockdown my local one (5 miles away) has been a bit of a scrum so I avoid it and go to the co op near me on foot instead. The Greek yogurt is the only thing I really miss.

Better than Tesco own brand imo. Nothing like as thick as Fage though (but soooo much cheaper).

Lidl full fat Greek yoghurt is really good. Tastes as good as the best from any other supermarket range.

Yes (the one in the 500g pot though not the bucket). I prefer it to Fage and a fraction of the price.

Report
SlopesOff · 10/01/2021 19:28

Yes, we get the buckets.
Also the cottage cheese. It is like the good quality stuff, firmer and less sloppy, but it unfortunately does come with more salt. (However, knowing how it is made that is not a surprise).

Not many things from Lidl are that good though.
