Dumb question about click and collect

I've got a slot for click and collect at Morrisons shortly, but haven't received a confirmation telling me what to do/where to go at the store. Afaik there's no hut in the car park like at some Tesco stores. Do I go to customer services? Was hoping not to have to go into the store.

Ring them up and ask. It could differ from store to store.

Our local supermarket doesn't have a hut in the car park but they have temporary signs up pointing out where to go. It changes regularly, sometimes it's in one corner of the car park, sometimes it's the overflow car park behind the shop. But it is very clearly marked.

Some supermarkets you ring them and they bring it to your car but they have designated numbered bays.

I don’t know if all Morrisons are the same but at ours they have signs in the car park and numbered bays. When you arrive you click on the email you’ll receive to say you’ve arrived and what bay number you’re parked in. The email tends not to arrive until the start of your slot time.

I have just received the email with instructions - them minutes before the slor. Annoyingly the meat I've ordered is out of stock. Anyway - thanks everyone.

I have a click and collect order from another supermarket tomorrow. I am expecting a lot of stuff not to be in it after this week. But just happy to get a slot.

@wowfudge

Ten minutes before the slot!

I think the email comes just as they finish picking so sounds like they are very busy!

I've got 2kg of chicken thighs not in my shopping which is a pain in the arse. Was trying to avoid going in anywhere.

I think that’s not bad going. Did you ask for no substitutions?

Success! Woeful signage for the C&C bays but it wasn't a problem I was elsewhere in the car park. The assistant brought my shopping out. She was lovely and very helpful. They pick before they have the delivery so afternoon slots are less likely to be missing anything. I went in to the store and quickly got the chicken thighs off the shelves.

I pick at Morrisons 🙂 a lot of stores only started doing home delivery and click and collect in first lockdown so we were thrown in at the deep end with minimal training. The rest of the store (where I work) is slowly adapting their working to help us out but getting deliveries changed is a very slow process.

We start picking at 5am. When we first started there were no produce or meat fillers in until 8am. It’s improving slowly 🙂 we are doing our best.

It's like a lot of things - you don't know what to expect first time you do it. Pretty sure this store wasn't offering C&C until very recently.

To be fair, I had a big order with two items missing and the assistant's explanation was helpful.

Actually it’s amazing how it got going so well. We had our first delivery slots within a couple of weeks of first lockdown starting from scratch with no experienced staff or managers and no where to work from and no equipment prior. We are still shoved in a corner of the warehouse and the vans we were allocated are a bit unreliable but we are now picking about 9,000 items a day. We are a small store in the sticks so this is amazing.

All credit to the supermarket retailers for continually adapting and giving customers choices for shopping in difficult circumstances.
