eating in bed

I've seen this discussed before. The main reason mostly given not to do it at night is crumbs in bed, but for me the main reason not to do it is having to get up to clean your teeth for a second time.

So, biccy in bed at night , yes or no?

No I think it’s absolutely rotten

Not in the evenings but breakfast in bed is brilliant. Currently have a 5 month old in our room though, and the idea of using the bed for anything other than feeding and occasional sleep is a distant memory Sad

I only eat in bed if I'm ill and can't be bothered to get up and go downstairs to eat something. But I wouldn't eat anything crumbly.

Never eat in bed. May have done when I was a teenager and lived in bed.

I always hate these threads for the amount of I'll thought out responses about how 'grim' 'rotten' and whatever else people love to say it is and how badly it apparently reflects on people doing it, who such peoppe clearly need to feel better than.

Perhaps try to remember the huge number of housebound, chronically unwell, bedbound or overly fatigued individuals who do an awful lot on or in bed including eat, who have very little choice. Myself included. I'm not 'rotten' or dirty in any sense of the word. It's just ridiculous to say so and reflects poorly.

People separately can do what they want, what does it really matter. Everyone enjoys different things.

I’m surprised it has to be said that the responses are clearly not in regard to people who need to eat in bed. The op for goodness sake was talking about having a biscuit

But hey, clearly it needed to be said.

The bedroom is a food free space normally but at Christmas I did sneak up there to snarf some chocolates without the kids jumping me for the good ones. Also occasionally when I'm on my period I go to bed with a pint of ice cream and a hot water bottle. Not biscuits because I can't sleep with crumbs.

I love breakfast in bed.
But you do need a tray and/or a dinner plate.
My boyfriend keeps using a side plate for toast, which catches only about 5% of crumbs. He's on thin ice.

I take a cup of tea up every night though. I I'm really tired I take my toothbrush and toothpaste to the bedroom with me anyway. Funnily the motivation to spit out a mouthful of toothpaste is a bigger motivator to hop out of bed and finish my dental routine, than having to get up and brush. Can't explain why.

Never. Unless ill. Otherwise, yuck.

I sometimes have crumpets or scotch pancakes in bed for breakfast- no crumbs. Otherwise no.

Eating in bed at night would wake me up too much. I like to feel dozy when I get into bed.

I'd like to say no, however I have woken next to a kebab after a night out on a couple of occasions Blush

Thats nothing.

A colleague spotted a half eaten cheeseburger in my hair at work one morning after a particularly heavy night out

If you do eat in bed, do the MN rules on cutlery apply?
