Hi all I have posted about this situation before but I am beginning to worry!
Basically I had my baby in august she will be 6 months old on the 17th of January! Since having her I have lost so much hair it’s unbelievable I can’t believe how thin my hair has become 😕 I have always had very thick hair Evan before becoming pregnant 🤰 but now it’s worse than it’s ever been I did get my hair cut in September and then October time that’s when the shedding started every time I was / brush my hair so much falls out I know it’s normal for most of us ladies that have children! But there’s one thing that is worrying me today I was brushing my hair and I took a picture of the back of my head to see what my hair looks like 🤦🏻‍♀️ And on the back of my crown this is where it’s thinning bad you can actually see my scalp also my parting isn’t in a straight line like it used to be it like a (L) shape 🤦🏻‍♀️ Just looks like it’s really thin specially around that area I have heard of people saying they lose hair around there temples from postpartum hair loss! But never on the crown of there head this is making me so depressed I’m sick of losing all this hair it’s not Evan slowing down I know it can last a whole year well I doubt I’ll have any hair left by then if it does last that long 😐..... p.s I have had blood work done to rule out thyroid and iron levels ect all came back normal ...

Has anyone else had hair loss around the crown area from
This type of hair loss after a baby?
Not sure what I’m looking for maybe just abit of reassurance as I’m freaking out here 😕

Yes, each time of three DC. Neither my GP nor dermatologist offered support but then I found out too late via MN that it is normal! It may take months or even years to fully return, but mine did.

Just make sure that you are eating right and maybe take a multi vit . Hair loss is absolutely a thing after a baby but it could also be something else especially if you are tired maybe not eating right due to this etc . I didn’t notice any hair loss after dc which was a miracle to me given iv had a lifetime of fine hair that will go into falling out in clumps mode at the first sign of any trouble sad]

Started taking hair skin and nail supplements recently and totally changed my diet to make sure I was getting enough protein etc and my Most recent ( I think stress related ) bout of hair falling out a lot has totally stopped and have a lot of new growth

I could be way off but just an idea

I’m not tired I feel fine and all my blood work came back normal!
I’m jus worried why I’m losing so much hair and why it’s only effecting my crown rather than my temples ? So strange I do fake hair skin and nail vitamins but my doctor said nothing will work and it will correct it’s self when it’s ready !
I’m just sick of losing all my hair everyday it’s awful
Thank you for replying to me

I left a thread like this a few months ago! My baby is now 7 months old. I’m still losing my hair but not as much as i was before. My blood work was all normal too. The hair loss is called telegen effluvium. I personally think your parting looks fine!

Thank you for replying! I’ve just been getting on with it but when I was brushing my hair and took a picture at the back I freaked out! The part just looks so wide never used to be like that I was worried specially with it being on the crown .. my doctor said it’s just hormones and it will settle when it ready oh the joys of having kids 🤦🏻‍♀️😂 x
