Anyone felt pregnant INSTANTLY and got bfp?

Hello all!

I am currently 4dpo and on my 7th cycle ttc.

I must be mad but I find the 2ww incredibly exciting and am fascinated by the miracle of conception.

I actually don't have any pregnancy symptoms yet but I wanted to know if any of you ladies have instantly felt pregnant and just knew straight away? They say it's impossible to experience pregnancy symptoms until implantation but I strongly believe you surely must feel something before implantation because it's still such a huge thing for your body to experience! Also the body just produce hormones as soon as the sperm fertilized the egg.

I have never been pregnant but my mum.said she instantly knew when she conceived me and she said sickness started within 2 days. My wife has also carried our 1st child and we also knew that she was pregnant before she finally got a bfp at 11dpo. She had sickness from about 5dpo and was extremely crabby let's just say... she's usually so happy and chilled out so deffo not herself. Our wee boy is now 2.

What are your stories? I find it all so interesting! Have you had any weird symptoms as well??

Can't wait to hear all your stories :)

The only time I have actually got pregnant in 9 months of ttc, was the one time I wasn’t symptom spotting, when I forgot about the tww and was convinced that my period was coming so didn't even bother testing despite being late. It didn’t stick but I think obsessing about the tww for me is counterproductive.

I’ve been pregnant 5 times and always at just before week 4 I become very tired and very hungry.
As in could sleep at 5pm and could eat my dinner twice.

I went to a wedding days after conceiving DS1 and just felt odd. I suddenly didn't want to drink and felt more particular about food.

It was the first month of trying and my cycles were rather irregular so I tried to block it from my mind for a while for my sanity. Did a test at 6wks when my "PMT" wouldn't go away after a few days and got a BFP.

Yes I did know both times about . I felt pulling and twinging sensations that I'd never felt before. I got them each time I was pregnant. (4 times, 2 babies) don't know what they were as I obviously wasn't growing but it was unmistakable and very early, before testing.

Yes with dd1. Pregnant straight away and knew really early. Was very odd, I'd never been pregnant before so had nothing to go on.

With dd2 I also knew straight away but she took a bit longer to get there in the first place!

I had a long journey but when the final embryo went in at ivf clinic, it was like I switched from madness and despair to super calm. My body had what I wanted and I knew it had worked. It was an amazing feeling. My bestie had a similar experience in a different context.

The result is wriggling about settling for bed now and will be one in two weeks!

Yes with both. Things smelled differently to me way before a positive test. They are 36 and 32 now!

Yes, I knew instantly both times I became pregnant 😊

Wow :) thanks for your stories. It really is so amazing isn't it? Like I say, I don't have any symptoms as yet. I've learnt to relax and not notice ever single little thing as the last 6 tries ended in heart ache so I'm much more relaxed. I have also stopped temping and checking cm and position etc as i actually dont think theres much point. Quite a few times i was pregnant on paper but still AF came to visit. So we decided to just chill the hell out. However if it worked this time then it'll be a new years day baby so I hope we conceived this month cos that would just be amazing :)

Yes, I knew with DC1 before my missed period. I was at work and suddenly my back went (it had never done that before - I was quite fit and exercised a lot). I remember crying in the loos and a kind colleague was comforting me (I guess I was hormonal too).

I did a test the next day (a few days before my period was due) and it was positive. I now know the cause of the back pain was that hormone that relaxes everything. I’m very sensitive to my hormones and had terrible morning sickness for 6 months 🙄

With dd i had a hunch. With ds I had sharp pain in my ovary and I just knew I would fall pregnant. With this current pregnancy I was out for an early dinner and the meat smelt abhorrent but noone else complained, I actually left most of a mixed grill which is definitely not like me (would normally inhale it). In all three pregnancies I have tested a week before period and got positives on digital clear blues (which are apparently less sensitive).

I didn't with DS1, suspected quite soon but didn't know for sure. I knew instantly with DS2. I have no idea how, but I knew immediately I'd conceived, I remember meeting a friend later that day and telling her, she was astonished when I confirmed it later. I also knew very quickly with DS3. I had my sons long before ovulation predictor kits and tests that were reliable before your period is due. I've literally only ever done three pregnancy tests, just to confirm what I already knew.

It's amazing isn't it because science says it's impossible to know before implantation yet so many women know way before the egg implants. I'm doubtful this is my month as I don't feel anything yet. I'm currently only 5dpo so I guess there's plenty of time for symptoms to kick in but I've not had anything yet. But I'm very positive it'll happen when the time is right. This is cycle number 7 so hopefuly it'll happen soon!! If not this month then on to cycle 8... Smile

I knew I was pregnant with DS. Couldn’t tell you why, I didn’t particularly have any symptoms but I knew it was going to be a bfp. I find it all fascinating too!!!

I was incredibly lucky, stopped taking the pill a month before my wedding and fell pregnant on honeymoon, then a year and a bit later we said we would try for another baby and fell pregnant first month again. I have DS 12 and a DD who is 10. Good luck xx

The first time I was pregnant I wasn’t ttc but a couple of days before my period was due I just felt different and bought a pregnant test. There was no reason to think I was pregnant (no missed pill or split condom etc) and I can’t really explain what made me buy a test before my period was even due.

I had no idea. Only did a test because I was 14DPO and wanted to go out for a few drinks. Did the test, ambled off after first baby, and was genuinely amazed when it was positive. Had had no symptoms whatsoever and a negative test at 12DPO.

Loving all these stories Smile if I'm honest I have felt this month is different. No particular reason why as I have no symptoms but I am expecting a bfp. I've not said anything to my partner as I've been certain I've been pregnant in previous months and I wasn't. But this month we have used a different donor( we are same sex couple) and he gave us 2 samples instead of just one like the other donor did. The new donor is also half the previous donors age and also lives closer so less time in the pot haha. We know it needs to be fresh but current circumstances mean we can't have anyone in the house Or use a hotel so have had to just go for it the best way we can at the moment. Only time will tell if it's worked this month. But keep your stories coming because I find it so interesting Smile

I’ve been pregnant four times and each time I had the same strong symptoms a day or so after conceiving. My nipples have a prickling sensation and I get other sensations. I know it says online that it’s impossible to tell so early but I was right every time and predicted correctly. Because I knew exactly when I’d conceived I used the pregnancy tests that give you an early result and would get an extremely faint line days before my period was due which would then get darker.

Good luck OP - hope you get the result you want!

To be honest I am 11 weeks pregnant and I feel totally normal so I don't think it's out of the realms of possibility that you can be symptomless in the 2ww Grin

Long before you could buy tests, I knew I was pregnant within a very few days of a period being late, because of tingling in my right boob - just the one side. Exactly the same both times, though I was in the shower the first time, and polishing a piece of furniture the 2nd.
I dare say that was after implantation, but it must have been pretty soon after.

Sorry to be a downer :o but I suspect confirmation bias for these stories. It's not really a massive bodily event to conceive - there's evidence that this happens around 80-90% of times that you have unprotected sex within the correct window of an egg having been released, but then 60-75% of those times the fertilised egg is rejected before it ever implants, leaving around a 20-25% chance of conception each cycle of TTC.

The hormones are not produced until implantation, and even then they are very tiny in number to begin with, so the effects aren't immediately felt. Most people don't feel any significant symptoms until about 6 weeks pregnant, the symptoms that do show up before then (sore/tender boobs, tiredness, mood swings) are also common PMS symptoms and tend to be caused by a rise in progesterone which occurs regardless of whether conception has occurred during the second half of a woman's menstrual cycle.

BertieBotts · 06/01/2021 09:14

Fingers crossed this is the cycle for you OP :) If it's not and you want to increase that 20-25% chance, apparently the best way to do that is to improve egg and/or sperm quality - for eggs the book "It Starts With the Egg" is supposed to be very good. For your donor/s try bugging them to take at the very least any supplements marketed as for men's health - I can't remember what's meant to be good but zinc and vitamin C are among them IIRC. But when I looked I found most things marketed for men's health seemed to include the sperm strenghteners, and the effect is quicker for blokes, for women it can take about 3 months for dietary and lifestyle changes to have an effect, if that changes the timing of your attempts.

Not instantly. But with DD2 I swear I felt things happening, implanting or whatever, way before a positive test. I also felt weird, metallic taste, other textbook symptoms.
