Given the current pressures and having a bit more enforced time should clap for carers restart?

I work for the nhs and no
First time -
Nice gesture
2nd -ok
After that it's annoying when the kids are trying to sleep and your neighbours are banging their saucepans in the street.

There are plenty of other ways to show support

I read a quote from a hospital doctor the other day saying he’d probably tell his neighbours to f**k off if they started that again

God No , the only people who continued doing that were massive self involved idiots. Professionally I was in social care for 20 years so have a lot of friends in care and DP is still in there. The clapping actually pissed most of them off. It wa seither disturbing shift worker sleep patterns or it just felt condescending. Lobby for pay rises ,better working conditions.

Not bloody clapping.

Please don't start these threads again 😂 no I don't want to clap.

No FFS.

Those who consistently vote for a government that underfunded and undermines, metaphorically shits all over NHS Nurses and Doctors - I'd like to see that.

Why would we stand in the dark clapping? What would it achieve? Too many people have not stuck to the rules. Definitely no

I never thought people were doing it for the NHS.

They were doing it as a way of showing solidarity with their neighbours during a lonely and isolating time.

Same with children putting rainbows in their windows. It was very touching, but it wasn’t really for the NHS.

People are just over it now.
