My mum is dying

She’s in hospital, covid pneumonia.

One of us can be with her for an hour in the her final hours. She will die alone.

I am angry and full of grief and rage that this virus is taking her and taking her without the comfort of us by her side.

I am so sorry, this virus is putting families into inhumane situations that will stay with us for long after life returns to the new normal.

Thank you for the messages.

I can’t even be with family - the thought of her dying alone is almost more than I can bear.

You too, LEM Flowers
I lost my mum in June (not Covid) and because there was no air corridor couldn't go to her funeral.

I think, from posts I've seen on here from healthcare workers, they do make sure that people aren't alone, that somebody is with them.

My Dad is exactly the same. My mother and I also have covid and our isolation ends Monday but it maybe to late to see him by then. I am isolating with her away from my husband to keep him safe.
We did FaceTime but it was horrific. He is elderly and has health issues but ten days ago he was fine. I feel on the verge of hysteria as nobody can come and support me while I support my mum.
The news of the two new variants is pushing me over the edge. There is no end to this nightmare.

I am so sorry to read this and it has pulled at my heart in a million ways.
My partners father passed with the same and it is such a hard situation to be in.
We lost his mother 6 months previous to cancer and I think because we went through every stage of her illness with her to her last minutes and then total reverse with his dad just makes it so much harder in a sense.

I know that you say that she will pass herself and I know that no one in the world wishes that to happen but the doctors and nurses will make sure that she has someone I know it’s not family and I wish it was so much different for you I honestly do.

My partners sister had pulled into the hospital car park after being told at 8am that he had a peaceful night to get to the hospital at 9:08 and by 9:10 he had passed away she missed him by minutes and she blames herself for not leaving home sooner that morning.
Please do not do that to yourself as it is mental torture in what is the most hardest part of life losing a mother who gave you life.

I wish you comfort in your hours of need and strength to get through each minute at a time.

Thoughts and prayers to you all 💔

Words can't offer any comfort, but I trust she will be heavily sedated and will slip away. She will know that you all love her.
But there is no consolation in this dreadful situation. So sorry. 💐
