Anyone tried the Heston Sherry and Balsamic Vinegar Christmas Pud?

A replacement in my order by Waitrose. Sounds questionable but having tried to find a Christmas pudding in my local shops this morning (!), there's nothing available.

Just wondering if anyone has tried it - don't want everyone going 'urgh' when it's served on Christmas Day!

I saw it and passed, got one from M&S. Some things just shouldn't be fucked with Heston

His chocolate tea set was absolutely amazing.

But I actually have never properly forgiven him for the orange centre one!

Do you have a corner shop? They usually have some tucked away and brandy butter can cover a multitude of sins.

Three corner shops visited first thing - and I saw the queue at Waitrose and ran! Cross with Waitrose as I ordered weeks ago!!! Cross with myself because this is something I could have put on an order weeks ago. Grin

And I do realise that in the midst of the shit that people are dealing with, this is not a major problem.

DH has agreed we should keep it and see what happens when we feed it to our 'oldies'.

So...the very lovely Waitrose lady delivered, and said that it wasn't one of Heston's best when I asked to return it. She's left it with us, but knocked it off the bill - bless her.

Fingers crossed it tastes better than it sounds!

I saw it and thought it sounded absolutely disgusting. Same as the carrot mince pies. It’s probably very nice though, balsamic vinegar on strawberries is v good and enhances the flavours without making it ‘vinegary’, so I expect it’s that. Hopefully the balance is right, I would think it would be, these things are tested and go through lots of iterations before the final product hits the shelves.

I'll come back and let you know after Christmas!

Not related to your post but I work for a supermarket and even if you place your orders weeks in advance they aren’t actually picked until the day/day before delivery!

Heston is always a talking point at Christmas - judging this year's efforts is practically a tradition in its own right!
